Decanted about 8 hours. The color is still holding a dark ruby and now showing some light bricking on the edges. Youthful plums are starting to give way to blueberries, mixed with a lot of dusty tannins and plenty of acidity. The moderate complexity, with the just evolving fruit and structure, make this an especially easy to drink LBV. I Really enjoyed this bottle, even though it is not near peak yet. These Warre's LBV have the ability to age beyond most in their category. Enjoy now with a long decant, or better yet, wait another decade for this to start peaking.

This wine already lost some of its primary dark fruitiness and shows beside more mature blackberries some sweet spices. On the palate the dark berries and cherries are still there, but also some development. Really pleasurable.

Dark forest fruits in the bouquet. On the palate full bodied and a nice balance between acidity and sweetness as well a round tannin. Really pleasurable LBV. 88+

Good, rich colour; attractive nose, ripe fruit and spice, nice floral lift (violet), hints of cedar and vanilla, good depth; the medium-dry palate marries a certain intensity to elegance in the characteristic Warre-style, medium weight of plummy fruit, lovely balance, freshness and tannic grip; complete finish, very good aromatic persistence. A more concentrated wine than the 2007, richer and more forward.

LBV port is the best value in port. This 2009 is excellent and has everything going for it. Buy it if you can still find it.

Drank over one week. Dark red, lots of dark berries and plum. Balanced and holding up on day 7. Lovely to drink.

An airborne dinner (British Airways flight BA0115, London Heathrow - New York JFK): Half bottle. Forward and fruity, juicy and spicy, tangerine, medium-sweet but fresh, violets and peach, black cherries, gentle tannins, clean flavours and good length. A nice LBV to drink young.
