Nose is not terribly expressive, but it does show some red fruit with red currants and cherries above all, and little oak. Palate is a bit rustic is Pommard fashion, with deep, bright cherries, medium acidity, medium tannins, black pepper and oak on the medium+ ending. Overall, this is a good Pommard in a good spot, but it's a bit thin and, while elegant, I would say it's a bit overpriced all in all. I am not sure it will improve much if at all with more time in the bottle, but it won't fade either. Went very well with baked salmon.
P.s. - better on day two, with deeper flavors in palate, grippier tannins, depose cherries. I had it with fusilli with grilled salmon, asparagus, and mushrooms - great complement. Nose was a bit oxidized, but besides that the air did it real good.

13.5% ABV. Pale ruby core with some garnet starting to emerge at the rim. Coravin pour, and 10 min of air in glass.
Aromas of cherry, redcurrant, raspberry, wet leaves, and anise. Medium density on the palate with a length of finish that leaves a little more to be desired. Juicy acidity against a backdrop of tannins that are still quite grippy and not yet resolved.
In Pommard fashion, there’s ample underlying fruit and muscle here that tells me that this is still ways away frontier reaching its apogee. A hold and revisit in another 3-5 years for me.

Appearance: pale garnet. Nose: medium plus intensity; aromas of wild mushroom, forest floor, licorice slice (甘草片), dry plum, wild flower, sandalwood, red cherry, blueberry, citrus oil extract. It’s developing. Palate: dry, high acidity, medium plus silky tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus flavour intensity, precise and in line with nose. The finish is medium plus. Very good wine. Can drink and has potential for ageing. Very complex notes on the nose with great development. Elegant yet intense. Charming!

Needed decanting on opening so decanted one hour. Earthy Pommard showing well with savory medium body, notes of sage, white pepper, sous bois, a touch of cranberry on the finish. Deliciously masculine.

Ruby red. Tart strawberry and raspberry fruit is a bit thin toned. Some earth and leather on the finish. Still has plenty of tannins- questionable whether enough fruit left for further maturation. Drink now.

The nose seems much more approachable now with 8 years from vintage. ‘It’s a pity to drink them before 10 years.’ Color here shows more ruby and is medium minus intensity of color. Much more transparancy than the previous two wines. Beautiful on the palate with emerging sous bois and secondary notes. Beautiful drinking medium minus body, medium minus tannin. Has that herbal note again, but its fading into the backdrop here.
On another notes Rugiens is the most highly regarded site, they have 1ha there and are the largest owner in this 1er Cru. Iron in the soil here for some red. Red——> Rugiens.

Light strawberry/raspberry on the nose. On the palate, sour cherry, blackberry, and notes of xylene and savory herbs on the medium finish, with good acidity. On the first day, this was noticeably tannic; on the second day it was noticeably smoother and more integrated. The score is for the second day; this has years to go. Average to good value at about $65.

Grand cru quality, as the producer asserts. Fabulous. Medium ruby, which belies the powerful flavors and structure. Strong berry (raspberry) bouquet with deep tannins and complex aromas. Remarkable now, but needs time to show its full potential... wait 7-10 years+.

The grapes are usually picked up to a week later at this Domaine in order to achieve a rich ripeness and this year is no exception. Whereas Comte Armand's Clos des Epeneaux is all freshness, elegance and class this is concentrated, heavily extracted dark fruits. An excellent wine, but not really to my style. Many wines from the 2011 vintage indicate an earlier drinking date than usual, but not this one. As always it's one for the patient. Estimated maturity: 2022+

Tough to love. Tight, high toned and certainly not worth the cash right now. Never really moved in 3 hours. Go elsewhere or leave for 10 years.

Painfully little fruit
Hardly the rustic too simplistically fruity wine described below by critics
1/2 bottle left
Maybe a miracle tonight?

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Black and red fruit with good balance and concentration. I still get a hint of a green edge, but far less vs the Vaumuriens or Fremiers.
