Combine a rich Pinot Grigio and seven years of cellaring and you'll get a golden straw-coloured wine with luscious aromas. Notes of ripe sugarmelon, dried apricot and dates in the nose and a ripe yet sturdy acidity to give it a good balance. If you have any left, drink over the next 12 months. Combine with grilled coquilles with a pinch of sea salt.

Unique and delicious white. Mineral notes with a tart fruit yet mellow component. Not what you would expect from a Pinot Grigio as it is much more complex. Great wine and at a great price at under $20.

Opened at Sun Wah with CWM. Consistent notes as previous bottles, with addition of some orange zest - perhaps as a result of the pairing with the Asian Duck.

A really delicious white, with mineral, zest, orange, honey flavors. Very complex and very good. On a very warm spring night after baseball practice, it was refreshing and interesting.

I like Italian whites a lot, but am rarely wowed by them. They tend to be lovely companions to food, but --with a few exceptions-- don't stop you in their tracks on their own. Exceptions to the rule include Bastianich's Vespa Bianco, Giacosa's Arneis, and this bottle. It is varietally correct PG, but with a texture and complexity more along the lines of Premier Cru White Burgundy. Absolutely wonderful, and at sub $20 a pretty damn good QPR. Definite aging potential, too. 92-93.

Similar notes to previous bottle, but I didn't notice any oak with this bottle. Very nice.

Initially served too cold. Better above cellar temp. Citrus notes with a hint of vanilla and oak. Very nice.

Will improve over time. Needs at least 2-3 more years of cellaring.
