Has added some integrated oak and smokey complexity after a few months settling in my cellar that wasn't apparent in my earlier notes. Takes this wine into the 90pt excellent class - and at the price, excellent value to boot!

As per my tasting note of November 2015 after which I bought half a dozen. Much more immediately approachable than its more southerly cousins in spite of its 15%. Mellow, fully mature for drinking over the next year or so.

Pre-Christmas wine tasting (Taurus Wines at The Parrot, Forest Green) with my wife selecting some everyday drinking wines. 50+ wines tasted; limited notes on those wines purchased only. All the character of a classic Zinfandel, dark fruits, desert spices etc but showing a pleasing restraint and finesse compared to some of its gargle blasting compatriots! For drinking over the next 3 years or so.

Tasted at Vino wine tasting (Hollywood, Florida) Very dark purple colored with a lighter ruby colored rim. The wine is bright with aromas of cherries and dark fruit and is hot from its greater than 15 % alcohol content. It tastes of blueberries, tart cherries, expresso, and toasted vanilla. There is a small quantity of Petit Syrah and Syrah added. This empowers the wine with additional texture and tannnins. Oak gives it a little smokiness, that adds to it's complexity. The wine is medium to full bodied with a nice long finish. Recommended!

Solid zin with strong blackberry and plum fruit. Medium tannins. And touch of oak to give it backbone. Not fully matured with purple edges. Should improve. Great value.

Chocolate, raspberry, hint of vanilla on the nose. Has a refreshing stoniness that reminds me more of a garnacha than a Zin. Balanced, but needs more time.

Above average, but not my cup of tea. Very alcoholic and a bit too much for me. It was enjoyable but not subtle enough for me 86 points

Too much oak, not enough fruit. Dark fruit. Bit tart. Dry finish.
