A gorgeous BDX style wine with new world flair. Cinnamon, spice, cedar, earth, blackberry...very expressive. On the palate, dense earth, spice, blackberry and sweet red cherry, with well-integrated toasty oak. Attenuated, but finely grained tannin on the juicy finish. A modern-in-style, but wonderfully elegant wine.

Dark purple color, with aromas of blackberry, dried dark fruit, and cedar box. Flavors of blackberry, dried currants, cinnamon with white pepper and a little espresso and dark chocolate finish. Nice balance of fruit, body, acidity, soft tannin, and intensity. Very good wine that will last several more years, but no reason to wait, this is peaked out.

Ripe blackberry dominates in the aroma and on the palette. Medium body with a medium finish. Paired well with duck and surprisingly well with seafood in a hearty sauce. Drinking well right now but should not be held much longer.

Dark purple color, almost a little inky. Modest aromas of cocoa, spice, and eucalyptus. Medium bodied with flavors of black raspberry, sweet dark chocolate and pomegranate syrup. The flavors are delicious, but the dark color and medium bodied nature are contrary to the big flavors and so it's a little discordant, it comes off flat or a little diluted. A good wine, a delicious drink, but not great. nice acidity should hold this wine for several years

This is the first time that I have not given 90+ points to a Fidelitas wine but we both felt this wine was uncharacterly harsh and not the usual smoothness. After an hour or so it did become more mellow, so maybe we are drinking it too young or its needs to be decanted and left to stand a while to open up. I shall try that next time.

Decanted 1 hour Nose- Nice Pure Dark fruit Notes with blueberry and dark cherry. I also get nice spice and earth characteristics as well as some cassis, dark chocolate and Mocha too as someone else had stated.
Palate- some powdery tannins still with 5 years but a lovely textured palate with balance and focus. I taste those pure dark fruits notes that were on the nose along with Licorice, cassis and spice. I Was thinking it would be more full bodied but the acidity and tannins are very nice with this medium bodied wine and I'm ok with that.
Finish- I think the finish is slightly tight still... but it's nice and spicy you get those nicely textured dark fruits with a touch of chocolate and the powdery tannin are better now and it's actually quite nice riding fine with the acidity.
Overall: I have always enjoyed Fidelitas and this wine is consistent. Definitely a Bordeaux style and I like this wine it's good but I do like there can more!

Decanted and waited about an hour. Nice nose with lots of spice: cinnamon, cardamom, clove, dark fruits; maybe some dark chocolate/mocha notes. On the palate, lighter than I expected with a really bright acidity that transitions into pepper and some alcohol. There is definitely some tannin on the finish, but not nearly what I expected given some of the notes. Long finish, which is chalky, though, for lack of a better description, tends toward a pasty residue. Drinking very well right now with a decant.
Update: even better on Day 2. Lots more fruit on the nose. Maybe the wine was even slightly closed yesterday: the tannin seems a bit more pronounced and the ``pastiness" observed before seems to have disappeared. This seems like it will improve nicely with age.

Terrific nose of rich cassis, blueberry compote, herbs, earth, a little smoke, and a hint of vanilla. Sweet blueberries, cassis, blackberies, licorice, tart cherries, black cherries, and earth on the palate. Really nice balance of acidity, tannins, and fruit. Tannins are mouthcoating, and a bit powdery. The palate tightens up a bit on the backend, which shortens the finish. Needs a year or two, but it's still pretty delicious right now. Should hold up to a big steak.

An interesting wine that doesn't quite deliver for the price point. Red Mountain elements are present but somewhat subdued.
