I’m not sure what’s going on with this bottle but the wine has no flavor. Other vintages of Chaleur Blanc are sometimes overpowering. I hope it’s a single bottle issue as I have quite a few more jugs...

The oak is fully and nicely integrated. Nose shows nice Semillon notes if honeysuckle and beeswax. Palate starts off smooth as silk with some nice rich and full body flavors. Ends with nice crispness. Would buy again.

Nose of fruit and minerals. Rich but balanced wine with lucious mouthfeel. Stone fruit and melon wrapped around a subtle minerality. Fairly long finish. After about three hours the fruit faded away a touch , not completely, and was augmented with a level of spice and a little baked bread. Although interesting, I think it wasn’t quite as charming as when first opened. Read into that what you will.

Tasted over three days, on the first and third days only. It retained its character and taste profile throughout. Similar notes to January and May 2014, with copious stone fruit, quince, and pithiness. The oak was more pronounced, imparting a Chardonnay-like element to the wine, serious Mâconnais Blanc in particular. Well made, bordering on blockbuster, the acid is hanging tough. It might be worth holding onto for another few years. 91-92.

Rounded with a pretty melon and floral notes on the nose. Palate is racy with acid and a full mouthfeel. Lime and stone flavors starting on the palate through to a long finish. Drinking well but still has time left.

I served this at my 7/11/15 Low Country Boil. It had a deep, fragrant, complex bouquet of pear, hay, melon, guava, cream and vanilla aromas. The palate was rich, dry and dense with flavors of pear, melon, guava and minerals.

I making notes weeks after the fact. We all liked this a lot and it has great depth and power. I have liked every vintage I have had of Chaleur Estate. 91 - 92

- Yellow color with medium forming legs. It's balanced and has flavours of apricot, peach and oak with a medium body. Bright texture with a medium finish.

Last bottle that we picked up from the tasting room while on vacation in the Seattle area. Sad that there are no more in the cellar as I truly enjoy this wine. Lovely floral aroma with hints of peach, oak, and stone. A touch light on acid lending it an ever so slightly sweet leaning but not out of balance overall. Just something to note when thinking about pairings. Same notes in the flavor profile as in the nose with a mineral/stone finish. 92pts.

Motz was nice enough to share this with me and donate half the bottle to my Saturday evening. Big nose of beautiful barrel notes, not over the top, so perfumy with flowers, honey and citrus too. The palate was viscious and expansive but the mineral and citrus cut made it oh so delicious with great play on savory/sweet and acidic. Had some fresh cut grassy notes that had me thinking Vouvray with the sweetness but the barrel notes had me swinging back to WA chard. Was a fun suprise being a WA bdx blac blend and a pleasure to sip.

This wine features a striking bouquet of spring flowers, pear blossom, dried apricots, honeysuckle, freshly picked nectarines and peaches, citrus, dusty minerality, scotch tape, and high quality oak. Subdued, non-pungent, Loire-like Sauvignon Blanc notes grace the palate. Sémillon's lush and substantive elements add structure, complexity, and intrigue. Off-dry, with an excellent silky mouthfeel. The wine finishes with a honeyed, dusty limestone element of excellent length.
Overall, the aromatic bouquet is more impressive than the palate, which though excellent, would be better with enhanced acidity. The moderate acidity makes this drink somewhat like an off-dry dessert wine.

Lime, tangerine, smoke, stone fruit, pineapple, flowers, honey, Pine Sol, herbs, and a little wood on the nose. Pear, lime, citrus peel, earth, honey, stone fruit, and some creamy oak on the palate. Good (but could use more) acidity. Outstanding, long finish. Very tasty in a big, ripe sort of way. Overalll, I thought this was great, though I generally like a bit more acid in whites. The finish however is what seals the deal.

A friend and I had this at the winery on 10/19/13. It had a rich, fragrant bouquet of pear, hay, honey suckle and light lime aromas. The palate was rich and delicious with flavors of pear, honey suckle, toast, lime and spice. 91+

Too early in its life to rate this fairly, so just initial comments Semillon honey dominates nose. Soft in mouth, long finish, just a little bit of tannin to carry through some acidity

Drunk over a couple of days
Acidity fading, now richer than previously noted, really needs food accompaniment at this point
Drink up
