Cork is pristine. Despite that, and the lively look of the 26 year old wine the nose shows oxidation and the fruit is pleasant but clipped. Good enough for dinner.

Pristine cork. Medium red, thin brick edge. Nose is maturing dark cherry, smoke. Light to medium body, medium concentration, so a little disappointing for GC. Silkiness, refreshing acidity. Enough tannin, but you have to look for it. Seems odd school with subdued fruit and alcohol. Perhaps this is somewhat corked.

med red with brick rim. Warm nose of strawberry jam, leather. Fallen leaves. Medium+ body with tangy red fruit, spice cake and balanced, lemony acidity. Good concentration. Tannin melts away. This is mature but in not even close to being old.

This is wild, savoury, gamey and earthy. There's notes of musk and meat along with a little brown sugar and black and red fruits. It is immediately expressive and has floral nuance. There's a sweet vinous core and a touch of astringency from the '98 drying tannin.

Red fruit nose with a hint of maturity in some infer the radar secondary elements of sousbois and a touch of allspice. Very elegant and balanced, It's hard for me to imagine this getting any better. Really bright red fruits at the front, give it a dynamic palate. While I'd be drinking these now, no rush,

Med dark red. Delicate creamy red cherry, a little spice. Light body, light concentration, cherry and old wood. Tannin and acid indicate youthfulness but the flavour profile is dumb.

Medium red, not fading at the edge. Dark fruit nose and palate. there is darkness and depth to the fruit. Silky and in fine form.

Beautifully expressive of fruit. Starting to show some maturity and breadth.

Certainly drinkable but very tight and not giving up much complexity tonight. This appears to need another 10 years; strong hold.

Med red. Cherry and barnyard. Cherry and pomegranate fruit. Very lively almost tart. Good length, so check back in 5 years.

Bright cherry nose, classy if simple, a little austere on the palate. It just seems a little plain for Ponsot...
