My last bottle. Great! Better than my first which I had in 2016.still has broad shoulders and should cellar a few more years. Drinking well now, however

Initially, I wasn’t very impressed with this. Even after a serious decanting, just didn’t seem all that together. Sitting for longer, it’s beginning to open up and is pretty good.
Aroma is OK, but not it’s strong suit. Taste is pretty dang good, touch of both black and blue fruits with some plum. Still not overly “fruity”. Smooth tannins with a bit of acidity... tart on the backend with a nice finish. For the price paid ($24), I’m not complaining... a nice “clearance” at my local Vons.

This wine had many faces and nuances. It definitely opened like a blend however the more decanted the more cabernets characteristics came through. The wine lacked a little fundamental structure however was completely enjoyable. Medium to heavy tannins, dark fruit, leather and burnt cedar

Gobs of dark & sour cherry which tame a bit after decanting, but an unusual astringent & tannic finish for a wine this fruity on the nose. Minerality abounds. Definitely an interesting wine. Not sure I'd buy again, but it was fun to try.

This gives the impression of youth when you pop the cork but it's ready to roll. Inky purple and brooding with black and blue fruit, plums, sandalwood, and toasty caramel aromas. Plump, full bodied, and juicy, the currant, cherry, and spice flavors are big and broad but not jammy or overdone. Possesses a polished middle-sweetness, good balance, and Anise spice on the finish.

It has been a bit since we drank this wine. We decanted for 3 hours before drinking. Fruity with a bit of tannin. Smooth finish. Can't wait to drink more. Luckily we have a few more. The wine looks deep currant colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. The body is medium.

Purchased at Royal Palm. Tasted like a Zin but was very smooth. The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, vanilla and vanilla. It tastes like blackberry and vanilla. The body is full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Decanted for almost 2 hours; drank over 3 hours. Excellent wine. Initial bouquet of cherry, red fruits, and clove. After some more air and time, we could detect more fig, spices, and a bit of minerality on the nose. Even at the first sip, it was rich, full, soft, and flavorful (although still a bit hot and tight). After a few hours, I can see why people say this is The Prisoner-esc, but I wouldn't generally compare the two-although it is a Zin (but really Petiite Syrah) blend. This wine is jammy but not opulent/decadent. And it's soft and round and complex with a lot of spice and fruit, but it's not as velvety or lush as The Prisoner. That being said, we love(d) this wine and are so glad we have 5 more. Plus at $29 it's a great QPR.

Dark wine in the glass. Tastes like a barrel sample. A huge wine with lots of muscle and dark bramble fruit. Cinnamon, plum, dark fruit, sweet red cherry. Really tasty; would happily drink more.

This is one of my favorite blends in this price range. Great fruit, good tannins and structure with a good finish. If you like Petite Sirahs, this is a blend you may want to try.

Too fruity for my tastes. It did get better with time in glass, but not we like to drink. Not enough dryness. Was hoping for more from this northern napa red blend. For the money, I much prefer other wines.

We pop and poured this wine, although it really needed a couple hours in a decanter. It was still enjoyable.

One of the best blends I've had in a while. Competing with the Mighty Prisoner in fruit, structure, and booze.
