WhIle budget priced still would not buy again. Did not find anything pleasing about this wine. It gives a dark rich appearance, however the flavor and finish leave a lot to be disired.

Dark purple hue. Small taste. Blend #33.1. One of my dad's wines and not one of his favorites, but he wanted my opinion. Very fruity, plum and black cherry nose with currants too and a green streak. On the palate, syrupy black cherry, tart plum, green, herbal, spices, medium fijish. As others noted, not bad, not particularly good, but certainly drinkable. The green edge bugs me along with the sappy fruit though.

A generic red blend. While it has a rather pleasant nose, the initial flavor is sweet and grapey. Light on tannins and oak, with a short finish is almost too sweet and fruity. Acceptable with a tomato pasta dish or pizza, but not really worth a second try.

A dysfunctional blend of international varieties. Tastes like it was bought cheaply on the bulk market and then filtered through oak sawdust. Completely undrinkable, although it did all right cooked into a pot of venison chili. So not a complete loss.

Passover at friends (Val and Rons): Purple in color. The nose has some grapey qualities. Perhaps a bit of black cherries. And a saw dusty note. On the palate, this has some purple and red fruits. A bit artificial feeling to it and slightly disjointed. No real acidity. Not bad, not great, just generic red wine to drink.

having enjoyed Blend NO. 01 A (kudos to the marketing people for the name, I called my local Trader Joe's hoping to locate a case of that tasty quaffer, but, alas, the greedy wine drinking public had soaked up the last of that elusive batch. The friendly "wine-guy" offered to order a case of the current offering, labeled 33-1. Unfotunately, this tastes like the inexpensive red blend of who-knows-what that it is, rather than a coming-together-of-the-wine-gods to create something much better. This ain't no magical Solera. Oh well, out $8.99. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Next year?...woops I mean next batch! Stay thirsty my friends.

Loads of dark berry fruit, pepper, spice, grip, and even a touch of earthiness. It came off as unoaked, but if oaked then remarkably well done. It put my mind to the unoaked reds of Michel Gassier, particularly the 'Cercius' label. 87-88.

This bottle was brought to a wine tasting event at the house. At these lower price points, the blended wines continue to outshine the single varietals. I think they said they picked up the bottle at Trader Joes.

Was not totally sure what we purchased here. Evidently this is a slightly upscale from rock bottom discount offering from the big winery in Modesto. Though not entirely complete from top to bottom, there is still some merit. Really dark opaque purple color. Interesting black fruit and plum with violets on the nose. The flavor concentration does not match the color or nose, and seems to have been filtered, but not really all that bad for about 8 bucks. Very smooth. Not overly acidic. Some oak probably not from barrels. I got purple teeth.

Good color in glass. Good body and fruit on palate with soft tannins. 13.5% alcohol. Nice quaffer.

I liked the wine. Very aromatic and rich in the color. I didn't think it had a lot of depth, but very good notes of dark cherry and plum. Nice finish.

Grapey with nothing really special and I found a drying, bitter finish. Drinkable.

Trying real hard to be something special. As someone else said, disjointed. A good general drinking wine but not a real personality of its own.

Pleasant nose which opens up after the bottle is open for a while. Plenty of tanins. The finish is pleasant. Plenty of chocolate and tobacco.

Very solid blend for the price(7.99), but must say I like the vintaged Cabernet Sauvignon. Blend not indicated on label.
