Color: Black cherry, very dark. Nose: Chalky strawberries, plum. Taste: A nice balance of classic grenache, syrah flavors. Strawberry flavors followed by dark grapey plum and some spice. Decent weight and finish. Very good value at $9.

What a steal! Not terribly complex or even varietally distinct for that matter (blame the heat wave) but for twice the $8 price tag one could do much worse.

Pretty darn good wine and an absolute steal st the sale price I paid for it. Tasty GSM blend is rather elegant and smooth after five tears in the bottle. At its peak or close to it.

Had to drop this wine a few points from previous tastings. Perhaps beginning to really show its age. In this bottle the jammyness seems more pronounced, along with some clear oxidation. Some strong wood on the palate which appears to burn off after awhile. Somehow less interesting then before. But still, for $8, if you can get past the jammyness, not too bad.
Returned to this and dropped it further. This wine is either cooked, or was hanging by a thread and the effect of the 2003 heat wave simply destroyed it. Not drinking anymore. Will think about how to use it in cooking.

May have been a cooked bottle. Decanted about 3 hr. The first aroma after popping was awesome, but quickly turned medicinal. The tips were slightly brown. After a few hours, it was so dirty and almost vinager, it can't be right. I will try to pick up another.

Wow what a nice find. This GSM from Avignon has a few flaws; a bit of jammyness from the great '03 heat wave is apparent on the nose and first taste. But, that is negated by a great combination of dense blackberry followed by a smash of garrigue that plays out in the finish. The elements of both syrah and mourvedre are very much in evidence here. The tar, leather, herb, and licorice 2nd wave of mouth sensation is pretty intense, and may be off-putting for some. Oh yeah, I paid about $8 for this, and will happily buy more. This is roast dead animals liberally doused with olive oil and herbs on the grill wine. Enjoy.

A friend brought this to a birthday party at Asian Avenue restaurant in Chicago. What an outstanding wine! Have to research what exactly goes into this wine. Well balanced fruit/acid/tannin, didn't complement all of the sushi dishes but I'm glad to have tried it.

Great smooth every day drinker - fantastic QPR at the $8 I paid! Red berry on the nose and palate.

Nice Rhone blend. Everyday drinker, solid but not exciting.
