  • Wow, that was fun. Full bodied cab, needed a couple hours to breath. I see only 2007 for reviews on CT.

  • Was looking for something to have with braised sausages in lentils...blustery night. This was a gift from Rowena a few years back, in my cellar for a bit. One of my"forgotten bottles". PnP, drank over 90 minutes w/Val.

Purple/garnet color, no separation. Nose showing blue fruits, floral notes, herbs, faint leather. Palate showing blackberry, blueberry pie, soy, herbs. Very smooth texture, tannins mostly resolved. Medium body, medium/long finish.

This is in a great spot. I had not heard of the wine before, so first experience with it. Elegantly aged, was likely a much bigger wine in its youth. Still showing expressive fruit, mellowed and sooth, texture is notable.

  • Don's bottle. En pointe cabernet sauvignon for Red Mountain, even better than three years ago. Exceptionally harmonious for a vintage in which so many wines were overripe and alcoholic. A poster child for "they don't have to be like that". Tannins fairly resolved, probably at peak.

  • Don's bottle. En pointe cabernet sauvignon for Red Mountain and has a good resolution of power and finessse for a 2007--didn't taste as ripe as most do, yet it wasn't a weakling. Was surprised to taste so good a wine from a producer I've not heard of before.

  • Tasting notes from a day later, but drank with roasted garlic pork loin, mixed veggies, and broiled potatoes. Very smooth and mature, with a phenomenal texture and viscosity that leads into a long, 30-45-second finish. Lots of dark fruit, including blackberries, blueberries, and chocolate cherries, along with black currant, blackberry pie, creamy butterscotch, and subtle savory notes of dried leather, herbs, and soy sauce. Probably was a power Cab at one point, but I admired it's deft touch and finesse for such a sturdy frame. Drink now through 2020.
