My last bottle. Just coming into its own at 11 years. Still very deeply coloured, the intense nose offers blackberries, earthy notes, chocolate, plum, a slight herbal smell, iron and tobacco. There's a velvety texture to the medium to full bodied and concentrated palate, with similar flavours to the nose, but also some lingering tannins at the back of the palate. Definitely new world, but impressive in that style (A-)

Ageing beautifully. Still a dark red belly with lighter edges. Nose of toasty vanilla and oak. Red plums and liquorice notes. Lots of red and black fruit on the palate. Some cassis. In its drinking window now and for another 2 years.

Tar/asphalt aromas...like other wines from S. America I have tasted...very intoxicating, complex, some iron notes on the palate, soft, smooth, dark fruit, finishes with good grip. Impressive...but better on the first day. Is the Don Melchor worth twice the price....yes in this vintage.

Wonderful, serious cabernet. It had plenty of fruit on the nose and palate to make it easy to drink, however, was layered with earthy, leathery elements that added complexity. Because there was such great fruit character to this wine I think it could improve even further in another 2 - 5 years once the tannins melow a bit more and all flavours integrate. Pretty awesome wine for this price. Decanted 50 minutes prior to drinking.

I served this in my wine course. Cherry and mint nose. Rich mid palate. Decent finish with well integrated tannins and acids. Would be perfect paired with a grilled steak.

Dark ruby and purple in colour. Nice deep and complex cab nose of blackfruits, tobacco. black licorice and brown sugar. Similar flavours on the medium to full bodied on the velvety palate with nice acid and smooth tannins. Great balance. I was very impressed with this Chilean cab; nice now but should improve (A-).

Vin chilien avec une masse tannique encore un peu présente. Des fruits noirs sur une bouche un peu granuleuse. Longueur moyenne. 89 sur 100.

Very good Cab. Savory and enjoyable now, it could be cellared for many years.
Great wine. Great QPR.

Well made balanced Sauvignon. On the nose cassis and eucalyptus. On the palate cassis with a well balanced structure of silky tannins and freshness.
