Classic Loring purple. Sweet black cherry, plum, cloves, orange zest, along with balsamic and something faintly herbal (in a good way) on the finish. As nice as the wine is, it doesn’t evolve in the glass in any major way. The first and last sip are very similar; not a lot of complexity here. No real reason to hold these any longer. A fair amount of sediment in the bottom and along the side of the bottle. 14.7% alc. With pasta under pork sausage and roasted squash; not a great pairing. 11.12.22. Recommended.

Might have held this one a little too long. Still very drinkable but the fruit seems to be fading a bit letting the acid become more prominent. Drink up.

Cherry and raspberry fruit, maybe even a little pomegranate. A few notes of something lean and flinty on the end. The finish helps the food-friendliness a lot. Still, not enough tannin or acid for the short ribs we were having, and I should have known better even before I grabbed this one off the rack.
12/17/2018 Similar tasting notes to last time. Matched up much better to chicken and dumplings.
12/13/2019 That fruit is still the star, and I still wished for a bit more acidity on the finish.

I love Loring PNs and this was no exception. Wonderful nose, firm structure, raspberry, blueberry and boysenberry notes and a fairly long finish. Nice acidity says that this will age well.

A typical Loring profile for sure, and one of their better ones. Has a good balance of cherry fruit and cinnamon spice with a very pleasant lingering finish.

Only $50 at JJ's in KC, not the markup seen on other bottles. Not his finest but pretty good especially at that price. More earthiness than some Santa Lucia Pinots

Bright juicy, red fruit. Cranberry and raspberry. Bright acidity kept in balance by stemmy tannins.
