Nice Syrah from Gary Pisoni. Dark fruit with some depth and light spice. Moderate chewy-ness that is very California but overall very satisfactory and a crowd pleaser. Medium finish

This was surprisingly outstanding, but in a somewhat elegant style, Barnyard on the nose, charcoal, a hint of licorice, white pepper. Balanced, nice acidity.

I drink a lot of Syrah, from all over the world. It's diverse styles are what draws me to it. I tend to like the big dense Syrah of Washington and Australia. That said, this wine is one of the most elegant Syrah's I have ever had. Dark red nose, very floral, almost no spice. Balance is impeccable. Considerable weight on the palate, but a mid-palate that is awash in ripe reds and blacks, that dance across your tongue. Nice clean finish, that is no easy task considering the volume of stuffing in this one.

Ash and smoke on the nose. Perfume of violets and other floral notes. Not as peppery as most syrahs which was nice .

Wonderful, but overpowered by Asian sweet and spicy steak.

2011 booker vertigo - cleaner in style, bright and ripe fruit but good acid balance. 93
2011 lucia syrah susan's hill - some smoke/olive/brine nuances that lead to darker viscous rich ripe fruit. 93

Deep and rich blue and black fruit with a bit of a tannic edge. Will develop into an outstanding wine.

Bruce and Rob brought a 2009 to the Treehouse. Complex, dark, blackberry tastes, if I remember correctly.
