More or less identical to previous note. Took about an hour to really blossom, deep violet and other red floral aromas, earth. Ripe red plum, raspberry, a round mouthfeel with lively acidity to carry everything through a modest if not lengthy finish.
Purchased 7 years ago on release and stored cold ever since, this was close to peak. Drinking beautifully today and for the next 10-15 years at least, decant if drinking immediately.

Drinking this a little “late”, although Robert Parker says good through 2028. First taste on opening said “where is the wine?” Seemed very “light”. But about an hour later, the wine “woke up” to become a great example of a classic Chianti Classico with good fruit, medium bodied, balanced acidity, and medium length. Lesson here - DECANT for 1 - 2 hours, then taste and serve! Looking forward to enjoying this over the next day or two!

Lovely CC Riserva from Banfi. 1hr decant. Paired with an amazing Bolognese sauce courtesy @OP. Lots of fruit, well balanced, good tannins and all of this under 30$.

Great chianti with many years left on it, but could still taste the effects of over 2 years in cellar. 1 hr decant . The brunello-esque color, nose and finish really brought out the sangiovese's oak and dark berry notes. Paired perfectly with a bolognese sauce. This 25$ Chianti will be truly special in 5-10 years

I found this fairly disappointing especially given the vintage. I found the notes to be a bit choppy and to be muted perhaps it's in a bad spot right now but I try to decanted and let it sit overnight nothing really could pull it together

This is a really interesting wine! Opened yesterday I would have scored it in the 70s. Light color. Nose of cardboard and strawberries. Thin and tart on the palate with little fruit and drying tannins.
Today, a different wine from the same bottle. With air, color has deepened . Nose now has notes of tar, tobacco, black fruits, earth, violets and chocolate. Quite complex... Now lush and long on the palate with flavors of black fruits, bacon and mineral. Acidity and tannin is high but the fruit is now there to balance it. Needs decanting or bottle age or both...

Really disappointed. Had this wine numerous times and always enjoyed it for it true Chianti character at an affordable price that was an absolute bargain. Something was amiss here. There was very little taste to this bottle. Not passed, corked or stale...just really bland and at the $11.99 bottle price, still too much to pay. Hopefully, this one's just an aberration.

2010 Chianti Classico's and a couple of others; 11/19/2014-11/20/2014 (Chris H's home): People love to trash this winery. They make a lot of wine and I find most of it solid and respectable wines for the price. At under $20, this provides some nice value for a wine to bring home and drink. The nose is simple with cherries. Soft and accessible on the palate. The least acidity of any wine, but enough to work with food. Nice cherries. Clean. No faults. Certainly a step or two above boring.

Plum, cherry, and leather. Maybe some cork like sensed before. This is such good wine for the price. Loads of fruit, but well balanced with nice tannins. Great with food.

Nose is very nice, with strong cherry and sweet spices aroma. There is a delicate vanilla hint, but the wine is not too oaky. In the mouth, I must confess, I expected it to be more intense: the wine has a above average body and relatively low (medium) acidity, but the tannic grip is a little bit too weak and left me someway disappointed.
For now I would let it age a little bit more.

Decant for no less than 30 minutes. It starts off nice, and only gets better with each pour. I look forward to seeing how this one matures over the years.

Again I smelled and tasted some cork at first. The wine was fine after breathing though. Cherry. Dry. Some earth. My wife really enjoyed it.

This tasted better than usual, perhaps due to the food pairing of Italian cheese and bread with olive oil to start. Also drank well with steak.
