I enjoyed this bottle, undecanted, over three hours, with tacos, beans and rice. Black fruit, spice, herbs, pepper. Balanced, tertiary notes, interesting. In a good spot right now. Will likely hold for a few years. The complexity makes this wine interesting. Decent value for the money. However, I don't know that many people are going to pay this kind of money for essentially a Cote du Rhone / villages, even if it's a good one. Price notwithstanding, it's a very nice blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Cinsault. Will pair nicely with Mexican, steak, spicy Indian, barbecue.

This wine is in its primary drinking window, if tasting like it’s near the end. Dark fruit, spices, a little fresh tarragon. There is plenty of acid to play off the integrated tannins, the fruit is just starting to lose its primacy. Stellar value wine that has held its own for 9 years. Drink over this year or roll the dice.

Still hanging in there! Killer with wood-grilled ribeyes and smashed/fried yukon golds with sauce vierge. All the gobs of fruit have receded and now the pretty stuff and gnarly stuff is coming out, in perfect balance. Impressive stuff.

I find it hard to believe that I haven’t noted this wine yet. This is the 6th bottle of the case and while several were given away, I know I’ve enjoyed this wine on previous occasions. Tonight I’m having it side by side with a 2011 Faugere for a bit of comparison.
Also,PnP a touch then slow O and consumed over the next 8 hours in OR Pinot glasses.
The nose here is much more reticent initially. At first all I get is a little cherry Luden’s cough drops coming through, though after a couple of hours some herbal notes begin to appear.
Lean on the palate, the wine is hard rather than soft. It really remains fairly austere on day one, recorking and saving the bottom third for tomorrow. Day 2- much more round and full on the palate, mixed berries, earth and spice. The acid is still there as is some underlying structure. Drink now and hold for the near term.

Fantastic value. bright dark fruit, moderate body and smooth tannin structure. drinking really well right now. Lots of sediment in the bottle, definitely stand it up and decant.

Black fruit with floral and spice notes. Moderate weight, elegant styling, good+ balance, even with its slightly sweet finish. Still wonderfully bright. Great value wine, especially with food.

Despite the verbiage on this, I don't get any hint of Burgundy- unless I think of some of the "reinforced"(with N African) offerings of the 60's
Earth, stone, sweaty notes, make for a solid medium-bodied southern blend, a bit less attractive than the 2012 drunk immediately after. Dusty,, lingering tannins
Loads of sediment. Decanting required, preferably 24+ hours standing

Popped and poured. Plum, brine, spice, black fruit, earth, pine resin and raspberry. Hints of roasted game too. More complex aromatics than I anticipated from something with such a meager tariff. Medium bodied, with raspberry, ripe red fruit, pepper and garrigue flavors. Finishes with nice length and a hint of clove/spice. Good acidity. 90 for me, 91 for Domino.

Sensing some bottle variation. One was awesome right out of the gate. One was not really good at all and the third opened up (less harsh) after some air (45 mins). Weird wine.

dark nose, toasty cedar, obvious stem contact adding some structure, raspberries, decent fruit tannin, definitely a geeky wine. Not surprising that this is a rhone varietal wine made by burgundy producers. Interesting stuff.

Delicious nose of red fruit, especially raspberries, as well as rich notes of earth and rose petals. As it opens up in the glass I get more peppery and licorice qualities. Light on the palate and well balanced with mild silky tannins. Will likely get another bottle or two to see how this one continues to evolve over time.

M'a beaucoup plu.

Purple rim and very reduced nose indicates that the wine is actually too young to drink. This tasting note, in fact, is based on the wine 28 hours after beeing opend as the immediate reaction was not favourable to the wine... The nose has hay and herbs together with som red fruit. On the palate raspberries, blackberries, licorice (a lot!) and black pepper. Strong, mouthdrying tannins and a quite strict acidity. For my taste the wine lacks finesse and balance. I am not a fan of this wine despite the fact that I adore many of Tollot-Beaut's Burgundies.

reduced nose - smells like a natural wine. actually quite nice. was expecting something undrinkably natural from the nose light-body, touch of chew and some good fragrance quite nice

Give it some time to open up and this has a fascinating fragrance which lies somewhere between Burgundy and Languedoc. On the one hand one can pick up the red-berried sweetness of a pinot noir (how does that happen?!), on the other the more traditional dark earthiness of its southern counterparts. The palate perhaps more readily identifies its origin and there is some bite, but a silkiness one rarely associates with Languedoc wines still exists. In any event, this is a wine full of contradictions that is proving to be an intriguing and enjoyable regular drinker.

With roast beef. A little disjointed on its own (licorice poking out?) but great with the food, lighter & fresher than expected. Very food friendly & disappeared v quickly; everyone liked it a lot.

Lots of sediment, re-iterating need for standing for 24 hours
Ripe red fruit, youthful acidity, tannins easing into spice

Glengarry Grand Tasting - Day 1; 8/29/2014-9/1/2014 (Glengarry Wines and Spirits, Victoria Park, Auckland, New Zealand): Liftted nose. Sweaty armpits. This is not as heavy as the Minervois tasted just before. Rich and flavoursome - gamey, tannic and layered. This is not as powerful as the Minervois but it feels more transparent.
