  • I had forgotten how sweet this wine is-- especially for a Pinot Gris. Nose of ripe red apple. Gold straw color. Palate has sweet apples and tropical fruits. Velvety mouth feel. Had it with spicy Korean chicken and bok choy so it worked fine.

  • Sadly, this is my last bottle, opened by mistake. I've really come full circle on this wine: it's truly delightful if you come with the correct frame of mind. Turning a more golden shade of straw color. There is pear, and now I get the mango that others have, very clearly. The "spåtlese" sweetness accentuates the ripe fruit, and makes this wine a great pairing with Thai red curry. Very long finish.

  • Oddly wowed. Bought the bottle by the shape, thinking it was Riesling. Reading it was pinot gris, I had completely wrong expectations. It turns out to have the sweetness, fruit, and acidity of a good German spatlese...
Ripe pears on the palate, quite fresh, and medium long. Weird coincidence that I had leftover lamb curry in the fridge to pair it with, instead of the Valley Shepherd sheep cheese I had intended. There ought to be some sort of warning label, because most buyers won't be expecting the sweetness or the touch of botrytis.
