At around $14 an inexpensive wine from Puglia in southern Italy from the Uva di Troia grape. Very dark color, opaque with an inch pour. The nose is mostly hints of English walnut, licorice, and plum. The mouthfeel is soft, limpid, and juicy, and tannin becomes noticeable only after the swallow, with a slightly bitter and vegetable taste. Overall, drinkable but neither distinguished nor much enjoyable.

Dark garnet with some browning at the rim. Appears unfiltered. Medium(+) intensity aromas of sweet black/red fruit with chocolate/cola and dusty undertones. Medium bodied with good acidity. I totally agree with recent reviewers regarding this wine, this wine was splendid when I had it last, approx one year ago. It appears to have lost a good amount of fruit, especially on the palate. Still very nice on the nose however. I get some Rhone character out of this wine, though the acidity still brings one back to Italy.

Consumed with elk steak and roasted tomatoes with yellow squash and zucchini. Had a small glass before the meal and was a lot better with food. Not as good as I remember and might be starting to slide. Dusty tart nose and smooth medium cherry flavors on the palette. Drink up?

I really like this wine. Dark ruby, clear with no sediment. Sweetish black/ red fruit on the nose, with underlying chocolate/meat/bacon aromas. Full in the mouth, with moderate(+) acidity and nice silky tannins. Moderate length on finish. The sweeter aromas really surprise. This wine is different, and I really like it because of that. Great food wine.

A unique blend of grapes with which I'm mostly unfamiliar, but a classic Italian flavor profile. Very acidic on opening but settled down a little with air. Better with food. Good QPR.

This wine rates an 89 for me, because I am factoring in value. I purchased four bottles of this from WTSO during their "cheapskate marathon" for 11.99$/ea, and was very pleased when I tried the first.
It's got nice structure, that deep rich fruit you get in Italian reds and good acidity to balance. I seem to recall the finish being a little disappointing at first, but getting better over time.

Better than my last bottle. More structure and well integrated fruit and tannins. Popped the cork around 3:30PM and began drinking around 7:30PM with homemade pizza. Best bottle of the night.

This went well with our Elk and Tri-Tip roasts. I would agree with GMAT5497, it's a unique wine. Not a big wine by any means, but has some smooth silky tannins. Not a long finish, but had some chocolate undertones with some good fruit.

Cherries, strawberries, currant, and dust on the nose.
Nice dry fruit flavor to match the aroma with mild tannins. Long, silky finish.

I really like this wine. Ultra smooth with a lot of dark cherry/chocolate. Some heat on the finish, but goes great with food.
