Of all the wines I decided to pull for a trip to a South Texas Ranch this was one of them. Open season amongst drilling derricks... not what I grew up around in Wyoming but still quality time with friends. More beer consumed than wine.
Wouldn't have guessed Amarone blind. Italian, yes. Maybe Tuscany due to the amount of oak influence. Still plenty of life left in this bottle. Drink now or hold.
Consider this contemporary Amarone.

Big and lively on the nose, spicy mint and eathyness. Still very tannic, but juicy and delicious. I’m not very experienced in Amarone, but this doesn’t have the raisin port quality I’ve experienced before.

I don't drink too much Amarone, usually finding it too big, too sweet, etc. But this surprised with the redness of its fruit and balanced acidity. Not a good value for my palate, but exceeded my expectations.

Rich, smooth, lots of fruit as you would expect from an Amarone, BUT this is actually pretty restrained by Amarone standards. Very easy to drink and not nearly as much concentration/extraction as other producers like Quintarelli or Dal Forno. Very nice wine!

Dark rubi to brick. Roasted figs, smashed dark berries, overiped cherries, dense plums' syrup. Layered, smoth, deep and surprisingly fresh. Thick and long caudelie as well.

My first Amarone was very smooth to me, nice drinker. Nice raisin nose smell, ruby color in glass, seems to be ready to go in my opinion. I did a Two hour decant, I wasn't sure how long it would need and I didn't want it to fall apart neither.. Had with pasta with gravy, meatballs & sausages, paired really well. Alcohol seemed very low/mellow to me. Overall a great bottle of wine. Thank you to my 2015 SS for this wine.

Not Your Average Varietal (Amy & Scott's): A small pour at a tasting. This wine did not seem like an Amarone to me. There is a whiff of raisiny port on the nose, but it is subtle. It drinks very dry, very middle of the road. Not much fruit, really not much of anything. Not offensive at all, no noticeable alcohol, an acceptable sipper.

Dark ruby, crimson core. Expressive nose of gingerbread, dark chocolate, dark fruit and tobacco. Surprisingly subtle for an Amarone. Full bodied but with a lightness to it which is great. PS: When drinking thick wines like Amarone I developed a small trick that makes me enjoy these rich wines more. Take small sips, keep them in the mid palate and enjoy the kaleidoscope of aromas unfolding. If I take bigger sips I just feel overrun buy the weight of the alcohol in these wines.

A fine style of amarone, restrained but rich, elegant yet big, complex through age, lovely!

Smells like cherries and sandal. Tastes very similar adding bitterness. Depth and some complexity. Traditional to the bone.
Absolutely delicious with ten years be ready for something better in the next decade.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow and it tastes like cherry. The body is full. The wine has juicy texture and finishes long.

Tasted at the winery. Quick impressions: Well-structured and layered. Smooth but neither heavy nor thick. Cherries. Moderate finish.
