Have to say this was a revelation. Lovely crispness and not nearly as “yeast” or cloying palette that I often find in CAVA, particularly when Viura can be too dominant. This had none of that, and love the BRUT balance. And has good level of bubbles - what some CAVA can also lack. I think that this could easily hold its own against a big brand $50 French champagne, and at price of $15! Went online to K&L to stock up on a case and sadly it’s all gone! Hard to find Reserva CAVA generally, outside of the mass mediocre brands, but when your do it is one of the very best deals there is in the quality wine world.

I visited Barcelona last year and had the opportunity to sample some excellent cavas particularly those made with Xarello and Macabeo grapes (Juve & Camps Reserve being an excellent example). This cava shows these grapes very well and for the price this is a very refined sparkling wine. Has an elegant mouthfeel with apple pie, hazelnuts and pear. It has a clean palate and a nice finish.

HWS Game dinner 2016 (@ RvD): Fresh apples, some pear, mild citrus acidity and a touch of sweetness. No great complexity, but certainly a very pleasant bubble.

Yeasty smell, with green apples and undercooked bread. Good texture, but there's a little bitterness before the finish (when some residual sugar manages to save he day). Kind of a fresh and fruity wine, but it's not a totally elegant sparkly.

Good sparkling wine and exceptional value at $13 (KL). Fruit driven but complex. Green apple, lemon, nectarine, quinine, and complex yeast. A bit saline. A lot of mushroomy undertones (from the lees I suppose).

It is very hard to separate my impressions of this wine from the price. The nose and the palate mirror each other very closely, with bready autolytic notes, red apples, lemons, baking spice and chalkiness. The flavors skew a bit towards the richer, riper side and I think the dosage is on the higher end of brut, but it all works. There is a strong wet stone flavor on the finish that outpaces the fruit a bit, so I don't see any reason to age this. Will this make me give up on Champagne... absolutely not, but its hard to recall a better sparkling wine at $14.

A good value sparkler. It drinks over its price range for sure.

Fresh yellow apples. Rich on the palate with medium plus acid and just a hint of bitterness. Subtle lees. Large bubbles. A bit ripe on the palate.

Very yummy. Crisp clean tiny bubbles and good finish. Much better than any other champagne style wine we've ever had.

Great QPR. Clean, crisp, nice fruit (green apple and lemon). Can't go wrong with this for $14.
