TallMike nailed it in his notes...except that - of course - Oz can produce some stellar Chard. This one shines due to the quality of the fruit combined with restraint. Lovely on its own...

If you're part of the A(nything)B(ut)C(hardonnay crowd, stay away from this wine. It's style is lush, fruity-oaky-buttery. BUT, that being said, it's done with restraint and balance. Lovely integration of tropical fruit and vanilla with a slight roasty toasty oak influence. None of those things diminishes from the overall effect of a nice wine. Full flavored, I like it. Australia and Chardonnay, who knew?

earthy and woody top notes with tropical fruit and a touch of clove. Large scale in the mouth with an opulent mid-palate and an acid and long finish, which emphasizes the meal spectrum of chardonnay. Very good.

This felt outstanding tonight - and the best showing yet, of this wine. Opulent and new world but also very structured .Great substance and balance with some heat on the finish.

Outstanding tonight with a chicken ballotine stuffed with spinach. Voluptuous and new world. Mealy and ripe with a sweet inner core of intensity that brings wonderful definition. Drinking well now.

Solid new world chardonnay with a particularly creamy texture. Beautiful fruit and palate density. Tonight the wine felt a little less complex than an outstanding score would dictate but this is easy to enjoy.

Continues its excellent lineage. Perhaps the least ripe of the vintages I have tasted but the tautness and cashhew and stonefruit reeks of cool climate class, even though MR really is warm climate. Needs a year or 2 to flesh out.

A well balanced Oz chardonnay, buttery oak, tropical fruit, but also some decent minerality and stone fruit. Very good and excellent value.

Nice but no Art Series. Good tropical fruit flavors with balanced oak elements. Not good QPR.

Delicious, nothing crazy. Light tropical fruit, moderate to heavy oak but I agree it remains balanced. Easy to drink and tasty.

Decent but not VFM for £20 asking price. Over oaked. Expected better from Leeuwin.

Ripe, round and rich. Easy to understand but still with an aspect of sophistication. This is a buttery and tropical expression of chardonnay.

Good bottle, just doesn't stand up to its big brother. Nice slightly oaky nose on opening but it dissipates quickly. Still nice though

Good new world chardonnay. Lots of oak but there is also a good fruity backbone. Balance is nice as well. Lacks some fruit and complexity.

Sweet lime nose. Nice, but dilute palate. Tastes exactly as it should - the cheapest chardonnay from Leeuwin Estate.
