Delicious and fresh - in a wonderful place right now! Yellow to golden color. Elegant nose with notes of white peach, pineapple, light honey, buttery. Intense but elegant and harmonious finish. Wonderful length. Some more years ahead.

Golden yellow; a somewhat nutty nose with perhaps a slight hint of oxidation and/or some orange; broad soft attack, white pear, a bit neutral to begin with followed strong “buttery” flavours and a very long aftertaste; a “meaty” powerful wine with elegance; 80% Roussane

This bottle opened with a deep green gold colour and a nose of honeysuckle, lemon butter, grapefruit and pear lifted by a touch of honey. The palate is quite rich and round with quite delicious fruit characters reflecting the nose and just enough balancing acidity and mineral characters to provide the necessary structure to provide length and refreshment. This is an interesting and unusual food wine to turn to when Chardonnay has lost its appeal !

a little awkward like a wood cabin with incongruent plank lengths. But like the dryness never yielding though like a girl who wants to be a boy, there's some identity crisis happening here

Straw gold. Crushed herbs, white flowers, hint of honeysuckle. Lightly framed, perfect. Powerful but finely focused. Great acidity and a long resonating finish. Talc, tropical fruits, nectar. Complex but never heavy. Great wine.

One of the best wines of the Xmas feast. Dense, herbal, imposing without being clumsy. Loads of extract. Hard to imagine a better example of southern Rhone blanc.

Evolved color, past gold, approaching parchment. Crazy nose: apple scented candle wax, fresh paint on wood, pear liqueur, hard boiled egg salad, musty damp clothes closet. Smells better than described, exotic and exciting! Drinks almost like a beautiful fino sherry: almond paste, orange zest, hint of bitter lemon tonic on the finish. This overwhelmed grilled day boat scallops, but paired beautifully with pan fried soft shell crabs, with slivered almonds, butter, orange zest, and a bit of the wine for the sauce. The fatty rich crunchiness of the crabs balanced the exotica that was too much for the scallops. Drink up before 2021, unless you LOVE sherry!

My first white Beaucastel and my first white proper Rhône. Light golden. Rich, unctuous. I get the dried fruit and fruit skins. Hard overall for me to describe. Too much going on and I don’t have the words for it. Loved it overall.
Prep: Started at 40°F and gave it 45m of slow ox. It became a little too warm. Food: Paired very well to a roasted cauliflower soup w/ toasted cumin seeds, and salad with spicy prawn and Brazilian Lobster tail.

Apples, wax, apricots and raisin on the nose. Rich oily texture. Full bodied with harmonius balance. More uplift from the acdity than expected. Had this with chicken in creamy sauce, a very nice fit. Again not a wine to drink on its own but great with the right food pairing.

Paired with Black Bass a l’Oriental. Young and big, this had a lovely waxiness, with some stone fruit, floral, and honeycomb. The dish had a puffed rice component that worked very well with this texturally.

Drank over 3 days and it didn't budge. These wines age forever. Bright and fresh with tropical fruits but still the wax, honey, pith and viscous weighted mouth feel. Always a pleasure.

In a great spot of early drinking. Tropical entry with wax, honey, honeycomb and spices. Big on the palate but some acids keeping it in check. Love these young and old.

Tonight this is a really nice cdp blanc that's drinking really with just an hour or so of air. Deep, rich stone fruit up front, with tropical fruit following close behind. There's a firm, underlying core of oyster shelly minerality with baking spice and anise notes. There's lots going on here. Quite delicious.

A few CDP's at Sunfish (Sunfish Cellars, St. Paul, MN): Medium gold color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. Excellent nose with ripe white fruits, melted butter, apple, white peach, nuts, light citrus. The palate is full bodied, velvety and bright, white peach, melon, apple, apple butter, nutty, rich, citrus, oily, very long and almost luxurious on the finish. Really showing well currently. 93+ to 94pts.

Drank in France - 80% Roussanne (from 40-year-old vines) and the balance Grenache Blanc, Picardan, Clairette and Bourboulenc Incredible elegance and depth with notes of quince, honeysuckle and flowers. Lovely stuff.

Definitely needs 5-10 years more time, but oozing with potential. Nice fruit forward (apple, melon) with nut and butter on the back end, creamy. I really like full bodied whites with the buttery/creamy texture and this has it. Should intensify with age. Nothing like a well made Rhone White Blend.

This was really singing right off the bat with an expressive tropical nose of pineapples, apples and just a wonderful firm structure, long and minerally. Drank alongside a VV 2007 and this was the better wine for most if not all of the night. Really great bottle of wine.

Awesome. Medium yellow. Nice legs. Fabulous nose of cream and apples. Full body, rich in the mouth, lovely, unctuous appley fruit flavors with a perfect fruit, acid, oak balance. Somehow light on its feet, but oh, so rich. 4-14-17-9: 94/100.
