  • Interesting village wine from this very good producer, from a microclimate (Les Vaumuriens) just above Rugiens. Medium ruby/garnet color with some bricking towards the rim. Slightly austere, with notes of cassis, some black cherries, tobacco leaf, roasted herbs, some spiciness too, also some graphite mineral undertone. It‘s medium-full bodied, has present but good quality medium+ tannin as well as some medium+ acidity providing freshness. Ends with a medium-long finish with some peppery notes. Overall an interesting Pommard, while not the last word about complexity, but then we are talking Village here.
