  • Mursteinsrød. Litt orange og en litt vandig kant. Forsiktig lukt av solbær. Mer intens og kraftfull på smak. Solbær. Rund, god og velbalansert. Smaken sitter lenge igjen i munnen. En god vin.

  • Mature earthy, secondary flavors lifting out of the glass, approachable and soft in structure.

  • Cherries, forest floor, plenty of acid and structure to develop further. Great qpr claret.

  • Typical bordeauxwine that is close to it´s peak. Not a significant nose but great earthy tones and a hint of fruitiness. Will peak within a year. Great value here in Sweden.

  • Decanted for over an hour and it had a lovely blackcurrant nose and a bit animal! tasted a bit flat and slightly tannic. Left it over night and it opened up quite nicely and the tannins softened beautifully.

  • Delicious with impressive concentration for this level. Reflects the great vintage. Classic cherries, cedar, and leather. Plenty of years left. 89+

  • Bottled breathed for an hour then poured. Started out a bit flat and austere but quickly turned fruity and almost sweet. Nice acidity and minimal tannins. Went well with Chinese food.

  • On the nose cedar, dark fruits and a tiny bit savoury, perhaps leather. On the palate there is cedar, dark fruits, very racy with a good acidity without being under ripe if anything the fruits are ever so slightly jammy. Tannins have melted away; I imagine this wine is near its peak. It is medium bodied and only 12.5% alcohol. This is a style of wine I love.

  • A medium garnet in colour, not much sign of bricking at the rim. On the nose not pronounced but classic Bordeaux pencil lead, and a hint of leather. On the palate blackcurrant, butter, pencil lead. Not intense, slightly herbaceous, even a hint of green. Lovely freshen, the body is medium, 12.5% alcohol but smooth and elegant. Tannins melting away, so drinking nicely. Not huge amounts of fruit left, but probably still has a few years left. Probably be described at old fashion Bordeaux but I like this wine, classic!

Picked up a 6 bottle OWC for €55 from Intermarché, so at €9s a bottle excellent value. Look forward to posting more tasting notes on this wine.

  • Medium ruby core with a garnet rim. Clean, medium intensity black fruit, typical claret nose showing some development. Blackcurrant, plums, leather and a hint of tobacco on the nose.

Dry, medium acidity and soft tannins. Medium alcohol and body with med+ intensity blackcurrant, plums, more tobacco and a touch of clove on the med+ finish.

This is a good quality wine showing some complexity and development. The tannins are fine grained and the fruit remains well defined. Harmonious and ready for drinking.

  • Found this bottle this past weekend on the shelves of the NH State store so it was likely sitting there since 2003 but for $20 it was worth a shot. Color was a nice deep purple, nose was a bit reticent at first so I decanted for about 45 minutes. This ended up being a nice mature claret that was silky smooth. Not much in my notes about any secondary flavors or complexity but we enjoyed this before and through dinner.

  • Good wine, but not much going on. Didn't improve after 3 days...

  • We found this one in the back of our cellar. We decanted it and put it through the vinturi. Currant aroma. soft tannis, still quite drinkable. Cedar. Haven't had it before , so hard to estimate drinking window. Perfect with the left over braised short ribs & homemade pasta on a Saturday night that we were supposed to go out for a nice dinner , but it was really cold and we couldn't decide where to go!

  • Many years and vintages have passed since I last tasted this wine. Have great memories of '82! The nose was a typical, good Medoc, with darks fruits and wood. In the mouth it started out quite mellow, almost creamy and round, good acids and tannins, but "died" quite quickly to begin with. An hour or so in the decanter fixed that, the wine opened up and lasted longer in the mouth. Medium body. I suspect the best is yet to come for this vintage.

  • Popped and poured. Still a youthful red-purple hue. Medium-intensity aromatic profile of fresh blackberries, currant, and earth. Medium body. Although nicely structured, the flavors on the palate are a bit clipped, with notes of black fruits & spice somewhat obscured by astringent tannins. However, this does have a good level of acidity and may well pair nicely with a meal. Medium length finish. Solid Bordeaux......but nothing in here to get too excited about.

  • Decanted this wine for about an hour before drinking. When first opened, the nose was of ripe raspberries, cherries and red licorice with an underlying bit of funky earth. When I came back to it after the decant, it had transformed into musty red fruits, old worn leather, damp earth and some pine. WOW! I loved the nose on this wine. Flavor profile followed the nose, but the fruit was softer and a little more pronounced. There was still a good dose of acid and some soft tannin that came in on the mid palate and on the finish to keep the wine from being flabby or weak boned. This wine showed like it was 15-20 years old, rather than just 8. It had that "old wine" funk and mustiness that you can truly only get from an aged wine. I agree with the previous poster that this wine is a bit simple and definitely at or nearing it's peak, but at $20 I'll drink it into the grave (its grave...not mine).
