I really liked this wine. Went well with and without food. Dry or minerally on the tongue. It reminds me of a taste you might (and probably do ) get from purple grape juice. That might be obvious but I know the taste I mean and I like it.

Medium to full body, dark purple red, aromatic, red berries, spices and leather aroma, cherry, olives and light oak on the palate, country style, red fruits and chocolate on finish, medium long finish, bold, heavy, not complex and dis-balanced, too low acidity, light tannins, too dominant to some food friendly. Associates with red meat. Serve 18º - 22º. Drink now and next three years

This is Telmo Rodriguez' basic Toro, made from 100% bush vine Tinta de Toro, fermented in stainless steel and cement, 14% ABV. Youthful, purple colour, medium deep; the nose displays black cherry, liquorice and flowers, nice depth, fresh, with herbal and mineral notes; the attack conveys a silky, almost creamy mouthfeel, but mid-palate and on the finish the tannins are quite grainy and a bit rustic, even if the overall style is quite modern and glossy, the acidity is low but adequate, there is a sense of pure black grape juice; good length. This is a flavoursome, hearty wine, in an unoaked style that takes some getting used to. Went well with Thai fried rice with Satay sauce.

Chewy and not very expressive. Red fruits and flowers hiding in there somewhere. Made in stainless and cement. I think it has promise actually, but is released as a joven basically, and actually needs a couple more years.

Dark. Licorice, dark cherry, even a flutter of raisin. Dark horse but not a beast.
