Surprisingly still drinking very well after 9 years. Soft and supple, it has plenty fruit flavours of blackberry, cherry along with spice and smoke. Definitely a great QPR wine.

I generally like The Footbolt for a quaff. Relatively consistent, good QPR - even better with a bit of development. Typical ripe dark berries and rich red cherries on the nose, chocolate, undergrowth, leather. A bit denser than the younger vintages. Decent palate, a little jammy and muddled. Dark fruits, plums initially, cherries in the finish, a lingering bottle funk. Still relatively tight tannins which could still stand to have some time to relax but I’m not convinced it’ll show too much more.

Blackberry, smoke, and pepper. A bit more acid and tannin than some of the better vintages of this wine. Really hard. Paired well with a steak, but not the best Footbolt I've had.

The wine has medium acidity. It smells like cool/menthol, tobacco, lemon and black currant (cassis). The body is medium. The wine finishes long. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. The wine has smooth texture.

Deep crimson, some clarity; reductive, very smoky, some plastic, jammy deep black fruit, some sweet spice, almost violets and black pepper, red plum, nice nose; very sweet and tart fruit on the palate, very berry, red cherry, plum, acidity frames it nicely along with some structure; surprisingly tasty.

Really nice dark garnet colour with medium legs. It smells like raspberry, black currant (cassis) and violet.
Very different style of the typical Aussie Shiraz. Firmly structured. It tasted of blackberries with a plum aftertaste. The wine has smooth texture but finishes short.
Overall this is really an excellent bottle. For the price we paid (S$26), it over delivers!!

This is a really interesting wine, and is definitely different than other Aussie Shiraz bottles that we have had in the past. It came highly recommended from a user on Reddit's /r/wine.
Aerated into a decanter for 15 minutes or so. Early on, the nose was very heavy raspberry/framboise aroma. After opening up, though, it took on a unique quality of cherry and raspberry juice, freshwater beach sand, and wood smoke. It matched on the palate for the most part, though the fruit juice and floral notes were more powerful than the other elements. Orange peel was also apparent on the midpalate. It was firmly structured, with grippy tannins that required some fatty cheese (in our case, 7-year cheddar) to tame. This could also be really good with a fatty slab of meat, or strongly-flavored dishes with a good amount of oil or cream.
Worth the $18.50 that we paid. We'll call it "very good-to-excellent," 89/100.

Good black fruit nose, and deep red color, taste very good fruit and a classic South Australian Shiraz. Relatively high alcohol (14%) and strong tannin. A well made wine and good value for the price.

Decanted at Perry's Steakhouse in Dallas. Light ruby appearance, faint red fruit and some mustiness on the nose. The light earthiness or mustiness is a faint touch before intense cranberries and raspberries; spice and tannin. It held up well with the filet but paired even better with the lobster. Still a baby but should be even better in a few years. Good QPR.

Fruity aroma. Medium-bodied. Spicy. Delightful acid. Medium tannin profile. Long finish. Very good, full-flavored wine.
