Interesting--though some thought this near death awhile back, including me in 2015--this bottle was very good. Classic Paulliac black cherry, tobacco and graphite--good tannins and heft. Could have used a long decant or more time in the cellar. Will update the drink-by date to 2021.

Reviews advising "drink up" in '11 and '12 were spot on based on the bottle we had yesterday. Ripe, stewed, non-Bordeauxish in the nose, more so on the palate but it's still a dog. Not dead yet, but close.

Eye: Dark red Nose: Oak, cheddar, woody-spicy... Palate: Mineral , firmly structured, with ripe tannins. Good and fresh acidity. Finish: Long Decanted: 0 - 60 minutes Note: Excellent, classic Pauillac, although not very complex.

Classic pauillac, but less depth and less persistence than Pontet. The fruit was a bit more subdued, and the mineral character was less pronounced. Finish was moderate.

Just ok. Notes of strawberry, red fruit and sweet oak. Not much in terms of tannins. Not as good as the 2003, or the 1995 or 1998. But still good with lamb. Drink now!

When to drink? Last year. Showed well initially but ran out of gas during the second glass.

Not a barn burner, but showing well for a premium winery 2nd. Would not plan on holding these much longer, though.

No surprise--decent with a steak but lacks excitement or contemplation-worthy complexity. Just okay.

Unappealing green and capsicum characters on opening dissipate slowly with air. Drinkable but dead average.

Drink it in asap/2011. It is a nice pauillac not super deep or complex, but good $18 bordeaux.
