Full bodied. Stood up well to an Italian dinner with red sauce. Balanced citrus and Chardonnay smoothness. Dry drinkable and enjoyable to big red wine lovers.

Very nice representation of the variety. Dry, tart fruit body is balanced with essence of viura beeswax. The citrus makes me think of fish, and so it was tonight. 89-90

We reviewed this wine about 8 months ago with a very favorable impression. This time I think we find a wine n slight decline. The fruit has fallen off a touch, and the acid is a little more dominant. Still completely stylish, slightly unique, crisp, tasty mouth full of white wine. The finish is more of a sharp grapefruit and pineapple this time.

Very light yellow color. Mixed tropical fruit with hint of flower and fleeting essence of viura beeswax. Overall light impression with lasting refreshing acidity. Excellent summer sipper, went well with seared tuna.

We don't get enough opportunity to try whites from Rioja. This is a little unique with a saline, mineral influence to the lime and citrus fruit. This one has the tell tail body and character of a wine that has been aged in a large wooden cask. The color is more yellow than most white wines. The nose is briny, wet shale lime and herbal green garden. The fruit is bright and fresh, but definitely old world combination of orchard and citrus fruit with a hint of melon. Plenty of raw, zesty acid to keep things interesting.

Quite savory on the nose with a distinct animal scent along with grass, honey dew melon and white pepper. The palate is light-bodied, bright and fresh, with more pleasant melon notes.

Prob liked this even more than I expected to. A touch more sweetness than I expected from a Spanish white with a good amount of acidity to balance it out. Well liked by everyone

Pale to medium lemon color. Shy on the nose, but as it takes on air, a subtle bouquet of lemon curd, toasted almond, and sea breeze emerges. Broad on the palate, with a somewhat oily texture and quite a bit of oak. At first it seems like it has very low acid, but then on the finish the tart citrusy lemon flavor shows up. I like the savory salty/spicy aspect and herbal hints that the oak treatment gives it, but I think they went a bit too far and lost a bit too much of the fruit and freshness. The concentration and intensity of the fruit just wasn’t enough to balance it, I think. But this is still a nice satisfying white that makes me happy for the price. A good alternative to a basic Macon or pinot grigio.

Lemon lime, apple, and mineral nose. Saline and mineral driven on the palate, not unlike a Sauv Blanc. Almost as if a Sauv Blanc was blended with a touch of Riesling. Have found this very reliable, and a great value. Well made with decent complexity.

Aromas of lime, stone fruit, mineral and flowers. Light and refeshing with a wonderful acidity, this has flavors of lime, mineral and lemon with a nice finish.

This was a new grape for me, and wasn't sure initially if I was a fan or not. However, after I got use to the flavor profile, I was more of a fan.
Flavors of apple, citrus with some minerality. Flavor started out a little light, but became more complex as the wine warmed up in the glass (was initially at cellar temp).
Good value for the money, and enjoyed trying a new grape. Not sure I would rate as one of the top 100 wines like WS, but an interesting wine for the money.

A quick note on this wine. The rating, 88.5, is right on. From Cune, it's a well made, balanced quaffer. Moderate fruit, moderate acidity, moderate everything else. I liked it.

Wow. If I didn't know what this wine was, I'd guess it was a White Burgundy made in the classic style. What a refreshing change. The tasting notes from the winery capture the essence of the wine: "...white flowers, and fresh tropical fruit. On the palate, the wine is balanced and long, with uplifting acidity that gives a feeling of freshness." Also, the Wine Spectator review of the wine is spot on. If you're looking for a huge or "New World" style wine here, you're not going to like it. But personally I think this is a steal at $9.99. Held up well with consistent notes over 4 days.

Interesting wine to try but it doesn't rise into the "favorites" category. Nose has citrus flavors and fruity, reminded me of the smell of a box of candy "dots". Finish was intriguing. Overall while enjoyable and the right price, I'm a touch surprised WS placed this in their top 100 most exciting wines for 2014.

Excellent pairing with turkey and herbed stuffing. Pleasant on its own with citrus, dried herbs, wax, mead, and minerals. Decent acids which soaked up the turkey gravy well.

Delicous combo of citrus, wax, fruit pith, honey, herbs and mineral on a tight frame. Didn't have a noticable acidic cut on the back end until had food with it. Great pairing with 5-spice ground turkey stir fry.

Really quite good for the price, with green apple and saline notes, if anything it could use more cut but it's distinctive enough and refreshing. Solid quaffer.
