Decent enjoyable claret, nice mellow fruity nose blackberries, in the mouth the the dark fruits had integrated with the tannins smoothed a little bit of spice evident, not much length. Although enjoyable in its own right you have to question if this is actually worth £21 when cheaper wines give more VFM and there are plenty of them.

Drinking well, and fun to compare notes from the previous 3 bottles and with those having had this on Singapore Airlines. I continue to rate this at the 90-range, perhaps due to the environment for tasting being different. I also have enjoyed the 2009 vintage, and will be curious to try and compare the aging in both. Right now the structure is very much present, with good length and depth. The focus shifts from a more fruity start to a lingering finish. The tannins are less strong than in the past, and the length also feels a bit less.

On a Singapore Airlines flight. This wine had a fruity nose, with dark flowers, black currant, blackberry, plum, earthy and vegetal notes, cedar, cinnamon and spices. On the palate, the wines showed cherry, blackberry, black currant, plum, earthy notes, some graphite and spice, with fine, medium-plus tannin that seemed a little green, good acidity and very good length. Very dry, but not unpleasant. I can't recommend this wine without any doubts;, I would need to retry this on the ground. The dryness and quality of tannin worried me a little bit.

Aging very well -- guessing from the previous timepoint, but I suspect this will continue to evolve and will continue to improve. Nicely integrated, not tannic or acidic, an excellent vintage and enjoyed this one.

Singapore Airlines - Business & Lounges; 10/9/2016-10/12/2016 (Sydney, Singapore, Frankfurt): {cork, 14%} Big and ripe. Very new-world in style, with blackcurrant jam to the fore, and oak in background. Slight iodine super/ripe character. The palate is medium-bodied, with ripe, almost hot, currant-derived fruit flavours, medium level gritty tannins, and a dry, slightly hollow finish to match the frisson of heat remaining on the tip of the tongue. Serviceable but workmanlike. Nothing special.

At airport lounge. Medium garnet. Interesting, unusually herbal for a Bdx, a touch of Olives with the dark fruit, tannins not noticeable, rather short. Pleasant, works for me. 89

I disagree with the other reviewers on this one. This came highly recommended by Calvert-Woodley, and I'm much more in agreement with their notes. This is excellent QPR and is already drinking quite well.

Singapore Airlines - Business & Lounges; 6/22/2015-6/26/2015 (Sydney, Singapore, Frankfurt): {cork, 14%} Plummy, blackcurrant nose; very new world. The palate has a dirty tobacco note though; earthy; not really old school, just fungal and not at all what the nose promised. Tannins are fine and dusty; quite drying too; it’s at least medium-bodied, and you sense every percent of the alcohol, which gives it a slithery kind of texture. The finish is pretty low key though, despite that tannic tobacco note charging through; it’s only medium length. I guess this will hold a while, but I’d be surprised if it ever rose much above ‘serviceable’.

Bordeaux Star Performers Tasting (8 Danks street, Sydney): Medium minus intensity aromas of black currant, beef extract, leather, biscuit and spice. In the mouth it's all about up front chewy tannin then tart black fruits that are juicy and spiced. The finish is long and a touch warm but nice. I went back to this one about 90 minutes later and it's funkiness quotient had increased considerably.

Bordeaux 2009 vs. 2010 - Check in on 50 well known Chateaux: Served in Singapore Airways. Dark ruby. Reductive nose of dark fruit some foresty notes. On the palate there is a lot of hot alcohol and acidity, too much for the fruit and structure it has. The tannins are young, not surprising, but OK. Singapore Airlines has such a high profile wine expert purchasing team. How can they get it so wrong? Why do they end up recommending a wine that is utterly undrinkable at this point of time? 2010, the mother of all "cellar vintages", why not offer something more ready, say from 07, cheaper too...

Big and new-world style for sure, but makes for pleasant drinking. Tannins nicely resolved.

Liked the 2009 better. But this needs more time in the bottle.

Deep purplish hue with pinkish edges. Sweet fruity nose, yet oaky earthy on palate.
