Lemony yellow. Discreet start, mineral rather than fruity. Some lemon zest and bergamot aromas follow. Bracing from the attack to the finish with persistence and good refreshment. Neutral yet rich and vivid.

In the end, this Assyrtiko from Santorini is a bit too tart for its own good, with a puckering sourness that refreshes even as it overwhelms, but it's still pretty remarkable otherwise. It takes some time to open up in the glass, lemon first, then yellow plum, then, as it evolves, a raw-almond nuttiness (reminiscent of some Italian whites) that isn't entirely successful, but the major highlights are the distinctive notes produced by volcanic soil and island air, namely, expressive minerality throughout and a faint touch of salt hovering about. Time could tame the excess and deepen the flavours, but even now, still very young, it's pretty amazing.

fun crowd pleaser but not super distinct varietelly. tasted at Grand Cru in Baltimore
juicy rich lemon and lime. lots of tropical stone fruit. white peach, orange peel, sweet honeysuckle and everpresent slate minerality.
body has nice weight and just enough acid. hint of residual sugar or impression of sweetness will make this a hit with riesling of vouvray fans but it's racy enough for SB and PG lovers. good summer wine.

At Dodici blind dinner. Paired with Gaia Thalassitis of same vintage. This was the more typical and generally pleasurable offering briny, citrusy goodness. Easy to drink and great with frito misto.

The wine looks yellow colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like grapefruit. It tastes like grapefruit and pear. The body is medium. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Très bon! Saveurs citronnés et de cumin? Mineralité bien présente, belle longueur. À boire avec les même accord que sauvignon blanc. Seul bémol, un gros bouchon de plastique noir ornait le goulot. Screw cap please! RQP ***1/2

Excellent! Vermentino-ish aroma but slightly herbal, minerally. Medium body, bracing acidity, minerally finish. Like a good southern Italian white with even more attitude. Great wine but not for the tourists ;-)

Agreed on the gunflint in the nose - which I am not into here. Grapefruit, but also a bit of paint thinner on the nose too. Apple acids and rather flat. Short finish, slightly oily. I am in the minority of hip wine drinkers, but this varietally is almost dull to me as it weasels out of the promises of interest. Much prefer the barreled version.

Veldig aromatisk, tydelig eikepreg, ubalansert, skivebom til krabbe. 1 dag i flaske: Noe bedre i dag, men fortsatt litt eike-beisk. For så vidt en flott vin men den burde vært laget litt.

Yiannis' 7/3 review is spot on - Yellow with greenish hue. Wet stones, flint and grapefruit. Oily, angular and a little hot on the back of the throat, needs to be served slightly chilled to be enjoyed. Very long, slightly clumsy finish. Decanting did this a world of good.

Light lemon yellow with green hues. Restrained nose with wet pebbles, grapefruit and gun-flint. Medium-bodied, bone-dry and steely with high acidity and a long aftertaste.

This is the fully unoaked version for export markets only. Very light yellow, almost colorless. Ultra-clean nose of grapefruit, stony minerality and flinty notes. Medium-bodied with amazing clarity of fruit and high acidity. Long aftertaste. Assyrtiko in its purest form. Screw-cap.

Outstanding with citrus , herbs and off melon. The product of a dry ad full body wine is a top notch result.

- Yellow color and aromas of grapefruit and lemon and has flavours of apple with a light/medium body. Narrow texture with a medium finish.
