One of the better Cali pinot noir's I have had in a while. Bob Cabral just knows how to make great pinot. When he moved on from WS the wines changed. I have learned to find the wine makers I enjoy and then follow them. This 2010 is holding up wonderfully. I found myself just sipping so it would last longer. Look up Bob and try some of his own wines, I know you will love them.

PnP. Medium red. Lovely red fruited nose. Totally seamless on the palate - lovely wine with completely resolved tannins and sweet fruit. Not a lot of complexity but hedonistic. Day 3 - after storage in the fridge for a couple of days this had developed into a totally different beast with wonderful complexity, dare I say Burgundian character - would say 94-95 today. What a surprise - overshadowed a 2012 Rochioli West Block opened today.

I love what WS does with Olivet fruit & this vintage is drinking wonderfully right now. Soooo, yes, 94! Yes, this is that xlnt IMHO. PnP at cellar temp = big tart black cherry & pomegranate fruit with some black spice & cola, velvety tannins, viscous/thick mouth feel and a super long finish (sinus filling for me). Very glad we have more, but don't know that this could get any better. Hmmm guess we'll hafta drink up! :-p

Nice wine. Dark reddish hue. light red fruit nose. Wild strawberry, cranberry, slightly tart, medium bodied, easy drinking, peak. Nice to drink with or with out food. Nicely structured. Enjoyed by those that drank it.

I was disappointed. All I got was tart fruit, a little thin, without many other characteristics. It didn't change 2 hours later, either. Maybe it was just this bottle.

Stored at 53 degrees since purchased. Opened and poured immediately. Not a mistake. At first fresh tart cherry with a supporting cast of smoother darker fruits. 20 minutes later had with roasted Cornish hens, porcini and morel mushrooms. Perfect match. Great depth here with perfumed dark fruits on nose and palate, kept a slight tartness but it blended in beautifully. Another excellent effort by WS.

big nose of flowers and clean forest even though i have a cold; lush RRV dark cherry with good balancing acidity; early secondary tobacco and forest floor

In a nice drinking window. Decanted 90 minutes, then sipped over an hour. Balanced, generous, and much more complex than I'd expect from a single clone wine.

Sweet red fruit, smooth tannin. Definitely on the sweeter side, especially for 11 year old pinot. Still very enjoyable

More Burgundian than the usual WS profile.Lighter up front morphing into a long finish of berries, a little cola and a touch of pepper.

Drinking beautifully. Tannins are smoothed out, yet still has wonderful aromas and long finish.

Wine Spectator Grand Tasting- SF April 24; 4/29/2013-5/1/2013: Plum, earth, cola, spice notes- Pure RRV. The palate is vibrant ripe black cherry, spice, mineral and earth. Thick chewy tannins but well balanced. Big but retaining elegance.
