Drank with grilled lamb chops and very nice wine with some fat but good cut and nice, not overblown fruit. This could go many more years but no regrets trying now.

More developed than last bottle but still not there. The oak has mellowed a bit which was a positive, on the flip side the warmth seemed more apparent. Still with nice structure, warm cherry and spice. Simple Ca styled pinot, made well, good now, maybe better with a few more years.

In a proper Zalto glass. Bright light varietal on the nose. A bit of steel or aluminum as well. Solid, still somewhat tight structure w a short powerful finish. Up the nose and side palate simply refuse to offer any distinct notes. Good wine, in a vanilla sort of way.

Straight forward varietal w very little distinguishing notes. Particularly light in colour. Some cocoa. My kids note salinity and sour cherry. I have no clue.

I think I should have listened to myself (previous note 2/2015: wait 5 yrs) but I jumped the gun at 2. Nose is nice, sweet cherry and sweet berry accented with oak. Palate more or less matches, full bodied California pinot. While not my style, done well. Acid is a little on the low side, tannin and fruit structure is solid. I will continue to hold, still very primary, hopefully better with more time. 90-91

Took a while to open up and show its true colors. Well made wine but more subtle style, with its berry / cherry notes coupled with herbs and some green veggie notes. Actually paired very well with food, but this could be over powered by strong dishes. Lighter bodied, medium acidity.

PnP at Boccadilos. Served too warm and in the wrong glassware. Finished at home and corrected those errors. Some effervescence. Fairly ripe for Sonoma but not a fruit bomb. Might improve in a few years. 14.1%

A little different than expected. The producer is Kistler himself so the expectation was set high. Out of the bottled comes some red fruit but also a rubbery scent, not unpleasant, which reminds me of the smell from a brand new bike tyre. Decanted and aired for 4 hours. Very balanced yet careful aromas of fruit and stone. A delightful wine however without any high-notes. Yet still the aromas and flavors are so delicate and withstrained that you get the feeling that the wine knows something you don't...

All black cherry and berry aromas and flavors. Everything is certainly ripe here, but it retains a refreshing energy and balance. Better than expected.

not sure if this was settled down yet from shipping, but surprisingly restrained and balanced pinot from a ripe year...decanted for a few hours and very nice although not sure I was as wowed as I might have expected

Wow! This is amazingly rich. Red fruits, Christmas spice, fruit cake, forest floor are all flowing. Great length. Like my junk.

I guess I would say it was good, just not my style of pinot, but it was a gift. Black fruits, big, not very pinot like.

Ruby. Racy. Red berries. Hallmark Cal pinot/no nailing this blind. Good, but not worth seeking out.
