Drank at State Bird Provisions in San Francisco. Popped and poured and consumed over 2.5 hours. First third of the bottle was sweet, with raspberry and black currant. Next 50 minutes the wine became much more tart and didn't pair well with the food. Over the last hour this bottle really came together perfectly. The tartness subsided and we really enjoyed it. Nice find at K&L for $50 at the last minute.

In one word, wow. Silky tanins, dark cherries, and a california pinot that is absolutely not a fruit bomb. Elegance and feminine are two words that come to mind, with precision of flavor.

4BOW (Jeff's House): Garnet color. Spicy cherry nose. Tastes of black cherry, charred earth and so much cola I might as well be drinking a Coca-cola. Green finish that again is dominated by cola. This wine epitomizes everything I hate about California Pinot Noir. 13.6% alcohol.

Medium red ruby in color, this pretty bottle of wine showed deep aromas of red cherries, a hint of cranberries, with notes of tea and spices. Palate matches the nose. Medium-bodied with resolved tannins, balanced acidity and fruit - drinking quite well at the moment.

took to Jason's office for tasting with Gerry... beautifully balanced, light bodied, tart red cherry, but not too tart...good acidity and complexity, with strong entry and a long finish.... my WOTD among some strong contenders (Beaux Freres, 3 Arcadians, Pey-Marin and Siduri)

Tasted April 22, 2006 at LilacWine’s house in Fredericksburg, TX. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Balloon Magnum glass. Dark raspberry color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of black cherries and saddle soap. Closed palate at the moment giving away just a little cherry and raspberry. Hold for at least 1 more year before tasting again to see if this opens up more and quite likely improves a bit with some more time in the bottle. Based on an estimated price of $38.00 per bottle I’d say the value is bordering between acceptable and agreeable at the present moment.
