Inaugural release. Highly fragrant nose and a beautiful ruby color, the wine gives a distinct strawberry note mixed with some cotten candy without becoming too sweet. Nimble in the glass. Medium body and a satisfying finish. This wine demonstrates a deft touch with an unfamiliar grape for the winemaker who said he wants to emulate the methodologies of Henri Jayer. I’ve heard of that guy. I think Roy is off to a good start. Label artwork by his wife, Jen. Recommended! Update: I drank this over 4 nights. Too candied on day 2. But on day 4 it was becoming more integrated with the fruit rounding out in a way that demonstrates it wants some cellaring.

Taken into Gabriel Kreuther. Gift from a friend. Sublime. Taut and very linear. I thought the acid was on point. This is the finest P-M I’ve had the privilege to taste. Thanks, Dave!

Decanted, drunk over 3 hours. Shared with my wine group, and universally praised. For me, the best I’ve tasted from this chateau. Fully integrated tannins, but this has plenty in the tank. I liked the merlot component because I sometimes find this wine a bit stiff. Not tonight.
