Still quite dark and fully garnet coloured. Nose is fully mature. A bit horseiness, lots of leather, cigar box and subdued dried and dark red fruits - mostly sour cherry and mulberry. Very tertiary. The palate is tart and dry. Not much fruit left and what is there is like the nose - dry and dark red. Smooth, still a bit of black tea tannin. Quite a long finish that is tertiary and a bit puckery. Probably past it's time bit still drinkable and interesting nonetheless.

Has not lasted this long (as expected). A bit of brett in the nose and in the taste. Fruit has faded quite a bit (but not entirely) leaving some tartness. A real drink-up, it's on its last legs.

The color surprised me, dark garnet with no sign of bricking at the rim. Lots of dried cherry and plum, maybe some ash on the noose. In the mouth, the dried fruit dominates, and lots of (too much) acid. There was a fair amount of sediment in the last glass. Still, better than I expected.

Decanted approximately 1.5 hours. Pours a wonderful purple/garnet with light bricking at the rim. On the nose I got note of dried leather, cassis, dried black cherry, dusty soil, and warm oak. Similar notes on the palate, this wine carries a gorgeous sense of age. Excellent balance and integrated tannins throughout. There is plenty of acidity to hold the ripe fruit together. I think this is holding at or near peak, but should be consumed within the next few years.

The cork crumbled while extracting. I screen filtered and decanted.
There is a surprisingly fruity nose of cherry, black currant, and plum. The lush pallet contains ripe black fruit and bakers chocolate, with hints of earthiness. An extended finish of tobacco and black coffee closes the deal.
After an hour the fruit was starting to give way to earth, cedar and black spice, with hints of eucalyptus. This old cab is drinking amazing well now, and may still have a few years left.

Bill's Summer Garden Offline (Vancouver, BC): I thought the nose here was killing it. Poopy notes, mature red fruits and hints of cedar give an indication of this wines age and development on the nose but only on the palate did it show some faintness. It’s mellow and soft with resolved everything but not terribly past its prime. There was still great acidity on the finish and while mature, the fruit wasn’t faded or lean. Really nice nose and decent on the palate. This wine illustrates the benefits of buying on release and storing in perfect conditions. Very good.

This wine has aged very well. When opened, there was a bouqueit of dark berries, tobacco, spices, and some oak. The palatte displays ripe fruit, spices, a hint of cedar and smooth tannins with a long finish. This wine was excellent with rosemary grilled lamb chops. We were surprised to find that there is probably some years left if properly cellared.

After allowing wine to sit for an hour, the nose really opened. There were notes of black cherries, cassis, leather, tobacco, and cedar. The palatte was consistent with the nose including fine tannins and tasty follow through. The wine is ready to drink but I think it will hold for a few more years if properly cellared. This was a very good cab that was extremely enjoyable with grilled steak. While we enjoyed this cab, we would rate the 1992 vintage of the Knight's Valley slightly higher.

Better than expected at 89 but still only fair. I can't recall anything out of Knight's Valley that was better than mediocre, this is no exception.

Color: deep dark purple
Nose: vibrant; lots of dark fruits and berries
Body/flavor: full body with excellent balance of acid and tannins; rich, complex fruit -- plums and dried berries.

Some distinct green pepper on the nose. On the palate very well rounded with tannins well-integrated. Very nice on its own right now.
