D+0h: a little bit of deposit in the filter and in the bottle, smells of blackberry and cherry D+4h: dark as ink, on the rim slightly purple red, smells of blackberry and violets, smooth in the mouth with blackberry and violets, full body, has a little bit of residual sugar, so not completely dry, in the aftertaste blackberry, violets and acidity, good length (30 sec), a really good red wine for the small price, albeit a little bit one-dimensional.

While not at the top of the Telmo Rodriguez portfolio, this is an admirable wine indeed. Deep cherry red. Dusty, undeveloped nose. Upfront tempranillo fruit in the flavors. Dusty tannins in the finish. This is a wine that has not touched wood. It is designed for value rather than sophistication. A good, reasonably priced introduction to Toro wines. Extremely well-made.

Wines from Spain (Athens Hilton Hotel): Dark purple. Extremely youthful nose with red cherry, strawberry, black pepper and floral aromas. In a sence it is like the wine (or a part of it) has undergone carbonic maceration. Medium-to full-bodied, very youthful and fresh, firm and somewhat drying tannins and a medium+, peppery aftertaste. Will imrove after a couple of years in the cellar.

Black Toro rich fruit. Agressive tannins, kinda easy-does-it-toro. Get yourself into a Toro.

Tough after drinking the Matallana, should have drunk the other way around, enjoyable but nothing spectacular

Good. Dryish, with a lighter body from less oak, especially on the mid palate. Nice Tempranillo, in a little different style.

Lifted dark red berry aromas. Has an unoaked appeal to the nose. Has a bit of a charred note to the palate.
