Pale cherry red with clearing purple edge. Shy nose, palate is light and stylish with medium red fruit and a well balanced finish. Good value at the offer price of £5

Fresh, berry-driven and surrounded by spicy but not too obtrusive oak. The texture is mostly grape rather than oak-driven, which is nice, and it's wonderfully balanced and food-friendly. Not as oaky as some vintages.

A little tight, green and acidic. However, not too hot, pretty juicy and fairly long. Some bright red fruit, pretty rich core of darker/riper fruit and spiced wood. Although it might be a little green for some, I find that bitterness rather refreshing. I actually think this’ll be better in a few years. A decent effort for the price and a pleasurable sip, especially with rich, meaty/fatty food. 13%, $11.

A very nice surprise, particularly at this price point. Some oak and cherry on the nose - nothing particularly interesting at first sniff. However, this is a case where the palate delivers more than the nose: the oak is not at all distracting, the fruit is still vibrant, the wine has mellowed with age, and the resulting flavor profile and balance are very pleasant indeed. Medium-bodied, well-balanced acidity with few or no discernible tannins. This is very food-friendly, but also delicious on its own. An perfect wine for a large dinner party.

It's a great QPR. It's not going to knock your socks off, but it's a good Rioja at a great price.

Way too thin! Not much here but OK with meat.
