  • Powerful nose - mushroom, forest floor, cherry, dried blueberry, licorice, smoked meat. The flavor continues, with exciting layers of ripe and dried fruit interlaced with organic dead leaf and mushrooms, as well as a strong anise and bitterness, possibly some dried orange peel.

  • Initially had concerns this wine suffered heat damage while in storage but was pleasantly surprised. Initially a touch of burnt fruit on the nose, with time this dissipated and was replaced by dried fig, candied cherry and black tea on the nose.

Not a particularly full body (borderline medium as indicated below) lower acidity and softer tannins give way to more candied cherry on the pallette laced with dark, mild spices and a touch of eucalyptus.

Overall, really happy with how this turned out. Cooler conditions in 2011 definitely reflected but definitely showed well and would buy again.

  • Pleasant is a good word to describe this wine. Pushing medium body, cocoa, candied cherries, tea leaf. Toasty fine oak that matches the body well.

  • - Ruby color - Pleasant enough, thin and light with echos of its pedigree......good for price.

  • Nice ruby colour with an amber rim. Medium plus intensity and medium complexity nose, with dark red fruits (esp. cherry) dominating underlying spice and earth (with just a hint of tar). Refreshing acidity with medium body and nicely supportive tannins. Flavours of cherry and pomegranate fruit, with a nice intensity at mid-palate that transitions to mild oak spice and subtle earth, with a strong, medium length finish of smokey spice. Not overly complex, but a nice wine, and a good price. Nice drinking on its own, or with mildly flavoured red pastas dishes or pizza.

  • Light garnet. Fresh red cherry, cinnsmon, mint, floral and herbal scents. Medium-bodied with very soft tannins, obvious sweetness, medium fruit concentration, balancing acidity and medium to short aftertaste of cherry-flavored candy. A pleasent and simple wine to drink soon.
