In bocca è potente, opulento.

Amazing Malbec. Hot, spicy, fruity. Vanilla and licorice, with big, smooth tannins and a long, acidic finish. This is huge and in your face. I've had all of the Achával-Ferrer Finca's back to '07, some of them have been an adventure to drink, rustic and primal, but this one might be the best put together, a unique Malbec.

It is going to be great but right now needs at least four years to be drinkable. Right now fruit and acidity can be overwhelming. Medium tannins, long finish.

FULL CIRCLE BEVCON 2017 SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE FOCUS, nose of black cherry, plum, floral notes, briar, and rocky soil, same on the palate, big body, mouth filling fruit, vineyard is 3400 feet above sea level, very tasty, needs 4 years to be drinkable, rich fruit, easier to appreciate than the other two single vineyards, long finish.

Vibrant purple color. Gorgeous aromatics of black cherry, plum cake, roasted figs, mocha, violets, scorched earth, cinnamon, graphite and minerals. Full-bodied but the texture and balance is amazing – fine but firm tannins, refreshing acidity, it all combines for a mouth-filling but seamless wine. Flavors of black cherry, boysenberry, roasted figs and plum sauce, the fruit is pure and vibrant and complex. Loads of non-fruit complexities: cedar, violets, roses, potting soil, tobacco, eucalyptus, tobacco, sweet herbs and pencil shavings. Long, vibrant, complex finish. Wow, this is beautiful now, especially with a long decant, but will do wonders over the next 5-10 years. This Achaval Ferrer Finca Altamira is my pick for the greatest Malbec from Argentina. One of three single-vineyard bottlings from this phenomenal producer, this comes from 80 year old ungrafted Malbec vines grown at about 3,500 feet. Aged 15 months in new French oak.

Producer tasting: Delicate Cloves and saltiness, acidity, off dry sweetness. Delicate complex finish. 110-year old vines on 1100 volcanic ash, sand and rock soil. No 7. yes, finally slightly dried red sweet potatoes in the finish.(sugar accumulated in a cooler region than bordeaux).

From Barrel N: Velvety ripe blueberries, refined. P: Still a bit too sweet, ripe blueberries, needs more time in barrel (obviously). Sulkier and a bit shut down than the mirador. Softer but slightly less complex. Very juicy and ripe. F: Slightly stemmy ripe cherry, mixed w ripe blueberry juice. no spice per se.

Extraordinarily young; tastes like a 5 year old. Bright and intensely cherry fruity. Good acidity. Promising, though.
