Soft nose. Soft pallet. Plum on the nose. We served with Ribeye and expected a boulder flavor. Could definitely serve this with chicken or fish. Hint of chocolate in taste. Good, but not our favorite L'Ecole.

I really enjoyed this bottle, much better than the first bottle I had. It is drinking really well now. Nice dark fruit, balanced acidity with fine tannins, satisfying finish. Paired great with a grilled steak.

This is a terrific example of Walla Walla Washington Merlot. Nose: Blackberries, with dark chocolate nibs and hint of spearmint. Palate: Black plum, hazlenut chocolate, old leather, black olives and a hint of spearmint. This wine has med+ tannins, med. acidity, a nice round mouthfeel and a long finish.

Not what I expected, was a little flat and not all that exciting. Maybe over the hill already. It was perfectly drinkable and you could tell it was made from good grapes and well made; but, just had nothing to write home about.

Perfect for International Merlot Day on 11/7/2017. Dark ruby red with some garnet too. Integrated nose with some savory elements, pepper, toasty, and dried berries. A touch of cinnamon too. Well integrated medium tannins (6/10) and medium to medium plus body. Layered palate with blackberries, a touch savory, earthy, dark cocoa, dark berries and a little gravel. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2025.

Very aromatic! I can smell it while the glass is still on the table. Dried blueberries, black cherries, just a tiny hint of pepper on the nose; toasty, & a bit dusty(?) as well. Lots of concentrated fruit on the palate. Tannins are well integrated. Full bodied with a hint of chocolate on the finish. Speaking of the finish: so long, and so smooth.

Merlot continues to be one of the grapes that L'Ecole does best (IMHO). Nose of black fruit, and coffee. Rainier cherry, plum and dark chocolate on the palate. Long, dusty, mineral finish. Will benefit from more time.

Nice, but not really happening anymore. All the fruit is long gone.

Pretty standard lecole offering (yum). Maybe peaked last year? Still good minerals and red mountain lusciousness.

Showing nice but still has room to grow. Fruit is still well balanced but tannins have subsided.

Amazingly youthful in colour and nose
Broad soft tannins, cherry and loganberry, long, long finish
Works well with gigot, equally appealing with brie
Revised score upwards as i consider it

Another excellent L'Ecole merlot from the incredible 2012 vintage. Full bodied but tasty and smooth drinking.

Sour, and past drinkability. Perhaps a bad bottle. Cork was not tight on opening, but there was no leakage.
