Color was still ruby pink. Rather sexy nose - blackberries, cedar with a touch plum. On the palate however, it is tannic, forward and uncomplex. Medium finish. Still quite young, but I think it is hard to improve more. Untypical 2000 pualliac.

On the nose - perfume with bouquet of roses, blackcurrant, blackberries with a hint of plum, chocolate and light cedar.
Palate - dry with medium acidity, tannic, taste similar to nose. It is balanced, elegant and coats the mouth nicely with a texture of satin, smokey and savoury finish lingers.
Maybe another year, it’s close to peak.

Spices, cassis, slight musky aroma. Tasted blackcurrants, grape skin, with a mineral, graphite, slight minty finish. This still felt young and energetic with slight tannins. Needs decanting. Not bad and a big improvement from the last bottle drank in Feb 2019. Ok to open now.

Not what I expected. Nice wine but not a Pauillac from 2000. But there's some reserve in this wine. Keep it onother 5 - 10 years and maybe you'll be surprised. You won't be now.

Slight cheddar, fermented bouquet. Tasted black currant and cassis. Fresh, somewhat still young. Not complex; rather closed. Should get better with more time. Hold

There is no rush to drink this, but it has reached its optimum plateau and is very enjoyable. As per previous note from a year ago, the nose is very lush with blackcurrent and flora. On the palate the tannin has softened over the last year and has good balance and a reasonable finish. It is a little one dimensional but a satisfying drink.

Opened well in advance and drank over 2 days. Wonderful nose, and the wine was very soft and easy to drink. Lots of positive noises of appreciation from those enjoying the wine. Could still age happily a little longer.

Fully developed, the wine has faint aromas of black current and flora. There is good fruit and tobacco on the palate which has a balance with the tannin. The finish is marred by a residual sourness. A pleasant but uncomplicated wine. The wine did develop a little in the glass but I think it is probably time to consume this over the next couple of years.

Still ruby, suprisingly. Simple flavours, nothing to shout about but not bad. Prinary fruit still around with a slight undergrowth hint. Not much pencil lead graphite and no truffle or leather going on. Quite smooth. Drink over next 5 years

Tasted at the Sampler, London. Expressive nose of earth, dark fruit with a touch of funk. This is very rustic on the palate, offering little pleasure both from its aromatic cleanness and quality of tannins. Seriously, how can you produce a wine like this in a stellar vintage like 2000? Thank god these underperformers sold the estate to an institutional investor. Let's hope they make more out of it.

Full and quite rich (for bdx) fruit, early development, not very complex, good acidity and gentle tannins. Old style, refreshing balance, could last a while. Seems to have improved in the last year.

I wished to be able to be as enthusiastic as the previous taster, but alas, this bottle showed no faults, but also no specific qualities, let's say reliable in modesty.

Weird.......I drank this 4 months ago and was seriously unimpressed but with similar decanting this bottle was completely on song and a delight. No detailed notes as drank it over a barbequeue lunch but it was perfect with simple grilled aged filet steak and it out-sang a 2004 Ch. Pichon Lalande Baron and a 1999 Brainaire Ducru.

Decanted for two hours and drank over the next 4 hours. Semi-transparent purple-red colour. Nose has a nice perfume of cedar shingle, brambly fruit, new oak and black tar on a cold road. Palate is tannic but thin and lacking in fruit with only moderate to low acidity........bland, flat and unexciting..... all rather dilute and uninteresting with a finale of fresh-sawn new planks. Little length but slight resonance. Disappointing.

Didn't seem as good as the last bottle I drank only 2 months ago. This one seemed to be just as perfumed, but thinner in body and weight. Also had more herbal and woody notes, and seemed to lack the fruit that the last one had. Perfectly drinkable, but not as pleasurable as I remember. Chalk it up to bottle variation or maybe personal mood/fatigue? 87.

Herby black fruit, not very evolved yet, quite lush and rich, nice fresh balance, not much tannin, mid weight. A bit simple but nice old school claret and should improve for a few years.

Opened 4 days earlier and kept away from O2. Blind tasted: oaky, dark cherries, leather, forest floor, licorice and light tobacco. Fresh acidity on the palate with black currants, tobacco tannins, vanilla oak, and a bitter tobacco finish. Based on this note I would say that this wine is far from being over the hill!

Dark red center and a bluish hue. Intense aromas of blackcurrant, black cherries, shoe polish and herbs on the classic Bordeaux nose. Juicy blackcurrant fruit on the palate backed by nuances of graphite, iron, herbs and chocolate. The taste stretches well over the mipalate and finish, gaining in elegance and refinement, and having great length. A bit bitter and dry on the finish, but overall a classic and great showing of left-bank Bordeaux.

Grand-Puy Ducasse vertical tasting (Terkels appartment): Dark red color with a brick red hue. Youthful clean fruit, blackcurrant, on the nose, but also notes of earth and cedar. On the palate it has nice blackcurrant and cherry fruit, that leaves room for some tobaco and cedar on the midpalate and finish. Very nice balance and good length. Drinking nicely now, but will develop well for another decade.

Deep, dark plum, opaque. Fruit, with cigar box touches behind... appetising nose. Good attack, nice fruit behind. Slightly hollow, hard mid-palate. Good length. No great life before this wine, I suspect. Lunchtime claret. VG
