Reticent, but complex aromas of canned peaches, raspberry preserves, black tea, cigar, and spice. More of a dried fig and prune character on the palate.

This was a nice juicy mouthful of savory raspberry, bitter chocolate and cracked pepper with a nose of raspberry, brioche. Really tasty and drink any time. Long, peppery finish. Pretty decent acidity to keep it all lively.

This is the second or third Salvador vyd from Turley (altho not aware of another producing selling a wine with this fruit) that I've tried, and am coming to appreciate its distinctiveness. There's cooling mint and clay on the nose and the palate, which along with black pepper and licorice provide a savory foundation for the gobs of dark fruits. Has a unique personality, but all of the richness and deliciousness that you'd expect from a Turley. Should go strong for another 5-7 years.

Blackberries and a jammy cherry to the nose. Thick mouth. Fruit pops. Dark cherry, blackberry, mint and black pepper. Hot fat tannins that take an absolute dump on your tongue and hangs around like an in-law you like at the holidays. Nice, but seriously don't you have somewhere to go? Big boy juice with a kick.

Disappointing as it was hot out of the bottle. Decanted /& sealed & let sit for 2 days but fruit didn't balance out the alcohol. Hold for a year to see if it mellows out

Drank without decanting. This is a truly wonderful expression of Zinfandel. It has spice, fruit, and purity. The fruits are on the plummy side of life with some licorice notes. This is so nice that I really wish I had bought more when I could.

Excellent wine. My wife preferred the Frederick vineyard we had a few days ago, but this is better for me. Surprising complexity for a wine of this youth. Easily sipped on its own despite the alcohol approaching 16%, and very capable of pairing well with food. Wish I had more than 1 bottle of this remaining...

More Turley Contra Costa goodness. The 12 is deep and dark, with concentrated dark fruit and a bit of a tannic edge. A bit primary, still rounding into shape.

Comes across a bit over oaked. Fruit is dulled. Spice is mostly oak.

At this point, this wine requires a minimum of a 3 hour decant and then it sings beautifully of rich dark fruit and grip.

It was tannic right off the bat so we decanted. That really helped the flavors of the fruit come out in front of the sharpness.

Bright red and black raspberry fruit, I'd recommend early drinking with a slight chill for this rather heady wine

Pleasurable spicy nose. Spicy and fruity in the taste. Long aftertaste. The Salvador wine has always been a treat and this is no exception.
