Lots of vintage greeness upon opening. After air it becomes more lifted, elegant and round, with sour cherry, Vosne spice and a certain class that is Richebourg. 93

Friday Afternoon at Domaine (Domaine Wine Storage): Aromas of light cherry with some green herbs pick up fruit intensity and notions of spice with air. Nice depth on the palate and good balance with medium weight. Just barely showing Vosne spice. Good for the vintage without any overt problematic green meanies.

Friday Afternoon at Domaine Storage (Domaine Storage - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Fully mature red cherry aromas with modest spice to start, more robust spice when re-tasted 30 minutes later. The most faint green notes, which didn't bother me at all. Moderate density, certainly not at a Grand Cru level, and also aging faster than Grand Cru at 12 yo, but all that is 2004.

Tastevin. Compared to the 2002 and 2003 we had next to this, the green notes were over powering. Green pepper and freshly cut grass against a backdrop of red and black fruit along with some spice. Nice depth and balance. In a different context I probably would have scored this higher.

Showing less greenness than my last bottle of this. The same wonderful Mix of red berry fruit and brown baking spices. Lovely wine and definitely recommend having with food than on its own.

Popped, poured and drank over 2 hours. Dark red berry on the nose with great brown spice, but also with a touch of greenness. Leaner berry on the palate, but not unpleasant. Fantastic brown spice notes come through on the palate as well. Medium body and finish. Overall, a nice wine, shows vineyard character, but I would like to see a bit more ripe fruit.

Aromatically - celary root/seed slight ashtray. Very little fruit. On the palate lush sweet entry and mid with the acid in balance and a very slight bitterness on the finish. The aromatics are like so many 04's ive had they just dont have any fruit or terrior they are underripe. Be interesting to see if aging this wine drops out any of the ashtray aromas.

incredible nose of crushed violets. One of the most aromatic noses I have ever smelled on wine. Sweet red fruits with some earth and mushroom overtones. still tight and wound up, should be great with time

Super dense nose and color. Dark berries, smokey, well balanced. However it did show lots of the 04 greenness.

Of academic interest but not a great drink: opened, tasted and let breathe for several hours.
First impression was all black tea and then smokey: reminded me of lapsang souchang.
I had hopes that the air would revive some fruit but it was not to be.
If there is any good news, it was not obviously green, unless green evolves into black tea with time.
This wine has no chance of improvement.
