Juicy, spicy dark berry flavors show good intensity but are a bit rigid and clenched, in need of more sweetness. Not bad but finishes quite tannic and a bit dry-edged." Five years later, the nose and flavors are still there...and the tannins have softened, along with the edginess. Quite nice.

This is shockingly nice to me. Right ban Bordeaux nose with slight funk that blew off quickly. The palate is singing with mint and cedar and dark soft fruit. Decent structure but no overwhelming oak. This should improve for several more years but is beautiful now.

Ahhhh..here is the plushness that was missing from the last WA Merlot we had. Huge ripe raspberries, spices, plums, meat, dark chocolate, and herbs on the nose. Tart raspberries, dark cherries, dirt, leather, coffee, and tobacco on the palate. Dry medium plus length finish. Lots and lots of life left but was drinking well with about an hour in the decanter.Went well with sausage pizza.

Aromatic, with dark fruit and a touch of funky leaves on the nose; rich, soft dark fruit flavors, and hints of chocolate and licorice; well integrated tannins and long, dark finish, ending with black cherries. Best as a pop and pour, I believe, as it was rich and complex for the first couple of hours after opening. It began losing its backbone after that, and it was a bit flabby after a day in the fridge. Still very tasty.

Aromas and flavors of rich dark fruit (blackcurrants, blackberries, black cherries, plums), with a touch of vanilla, spice, and an interesting green note; smooth, integrated tannins, and a lingering finish with cherries and plums at the very end. Delicious.

Plush. Tons of fruit. Could have gone another few years as tannins were noticeable. Very tasty though.

Oak dominated with pop and pour first night. Second night oak was gone and the fruit was Devine!

Washington Wine Highway (Chateau Ste. Michelle, Woodinville, WA): Great nose of candied fruit. The flavors in this wine were of dark cherries, blackberries, and some mocha. Great, smooth mouthfeel and a medium to long finish. What a nice Merlot this was.
