First Carrick wine I have tasted. Decanted 1/2 hr.
Wine appears medium bodied, with garnet colour showing no sign of 7 years age.
Sweet aromas of cherries, plums, dark chocolate & coffee spice. On the palate it is soft & plush, with a graceful offering of black cherries & coffee spice. There are no funky, mushroom, or meaty characters.
Purity & elegance is the focus here. A serious, complex, age-worthy style with layers of flavour and a foundation of firm, ripe, tannins.
Drink till 2018.
Enjoy with dishes such as whole roasted baby Chicken, Quail, or Pork.

Deep red colour. Medium weight. Smooth tannins, cherries and raspberries on the opening. Bit of earthiness, cinnamon/spices. Nice acidity to help balance it all out. Decent length to the finish.

Very earthy nose with hints of gooseberry, very rich fleshy fruit but layers of complexity making this very interesting - faint oak in the background, fantastic length and even some pink grapefruit & sous bois poking out - I'm not a fan of acidic wines and this still stays on the right side of the line for me - very good perhaps excellent and not at its peak yet

Deep, dark crimson and showing no signs of age. Rich red cherry aromas with a hint of forrest floor and sweet vanilla. Medium bodied palate with a rich seam of red fruits framed by lacy tannin structure that provides excellent texture and interest. Decent length and very well balanced. All suggests many years of good drinking ahead.

Sluten doft som från börjar var nästan obefintlig efter ett tag dök hallon/jordgubb upp med en lite nysågad träplanka. bärig smak som var betydligt kraftigare än vad doften skvallrade om.

Dense ruby red, it has a fragrance nose with cherry and raspberry. On palate it shows good intensity and lots of cherry, raspberry and red fruits. It has nice long finish and fine tannins.

Nose - abit of barnyard, and limited pinot fruit. Palette - pinot fruit is there. A medium body; too full for a pinot. Lack of delicacy or finese. Overpriced at $37 Cdn.

I really liked the wine but the finish was disappointing. Great fruit, rich mouth feel, terrific spice and barnyard - all good until the overly acidic finish that would not disapate with time open. It is too bad to have to make these remarks because I love acidic wines and I loved everything else about this wine.

Excellent NZ Pinot, really tasty and interesting and one of the best Pinots we've had of late and must have more - Dark, medium-full bodied with a nose of cherry, cranberry, cinnamon, spice and vanilla, very well structured, great acidity, balanced, sweet, sour on the palate with excellent length (92 Points).

Explosive aromatics with sour cherry and crunchy acidity. Quite dense. Still, has the balance the pull it all together. Not as good on second day. Not cheap but delivers to a certain extent. Excellent.

Very dark color for a Pinot. Nose is not fruit driven, rather earthy, noticeable alcohol on the nose. Initial taste is of very dark cherry, touch of sassafras. Very nice long finish. The lingering finish is the best part of this wine. Tasted at the cellar door restaurant with rack of lamb - a wonderful Central Otago combination.

Dark opaque purple red colour. Big warm nose of Moccachino coffee, ripe black cherry and ripe dark plums, with a hint of cinnamon. Palate is lighter than the nose would signal, very elegant and already very approachable in a Chambolle Musigny manner. Not fruit driven but great spices and impressive concentration from a year where yeilds were a third of normal but fruit quality was exceptional. Silky tannins and a touch of refreshing acidity. A touch of Epsom Salts. Very harmonious. Some length. Will get better over the next few years. Really impressive.

Medium intense with little signs of age. Lovely ripe cherry nose with some strawberry notes. Firm tannins, good follow through fruit. Long with a slightly dark chocolate finish.

Nice wine. Smooth, dry, losing its fruit. More smokiness now. Very pleasant and decent complexity. Earthiness, spices, cherries still dominate.

Splash decanted. Still young. Cherry led flavours nicely balanced by a slight barnyardy reductive note. A very nice new world Pinot indeed.
