Did i say that this wine is at its peak in September 21? Nope. Decant 30 min and still beautiful. They don’t make this anymore, so drink it now. Dark fruit, blackberry, plum. I am a fan. However, it is my last one. Nice to share with my wife, brother.& sister-in-law. Very yummy.

As stated the previous day, I love Keever. Even better I am at my brothers drinking his. This Syrah has been properly cellared. It is probably just a shade past peak. I think with a little more decant time this baby will be purring like a woman in love given the proper time to prepare for what is to come. No pun intended. Very slight amber on the meniscus. Nose is present, but faint. First taste is Jammy, like succulent red lips to go with the long slow legs. Just how I like 'em. Long finish, yet another way how I like'em. Enjoy this baby now, and don't wait too much longer or she might up and leave you.

Decanted for several hours, then put it back in the bottle until the next day. It needed that time to open up properly. Was not goo on pop and pour at all but was excellent the next day.

I'm hoping that this was just a bottle spoiled by reduction. There was a strong smell of rubber tire, and an after taste of rubber tire as well. It was hard to tell much else about the wine because of that. I tried to decant it longer, and tried the trick of putting a pre-1982 copper penny in the wine glass, but it didn't seem to help.

Vintage Select Industry Tasting - Firehouse in the Heights: Nose of black cherry, tapenade, roasted game, blueberry and vanilla. On the palate like drinking velvet with black cherry, blueberry, anise, black olive and vanilla. Long smooth finish. Borderline alcohol but the rest of the package is great. Definitely in the top five of the day.

At its peak. Smooth with a bit of spice. Slightly dry. Nice dark red fruit.

Giant wine. Blue and black fruits, damp earth, sweet tobacco leaf. Not a whole lot of peppery spice, plenty of warm baking spice.

I think 92-93 is a proper rating for this wine. I prefer the 2009, but this is close behind.
Nose: Rich blackberries and cream, light mint, sweet leather, baked cherries, baking spices, chocolate, smoked meats
Palate:
Blackberries, raspberries, cedar, dried herbs, vanilla, chocolate, wet/dark earth.
Decanted for several hours, then put it back in the bottle until the next day. It needed that time to open up properly. Was not goo on pop and pour at all but was excellent the next day.

Will only get better with time. Slight dry finish but smooth. Not quite velvet but will get there.
