Not much to add, still excellent. Fallstaff just had the best Chardonnays in the world (from their point of view). I can agree that for Germany they picked Becker’s Minéral.

Excellent Chardonnay with profound minerality and structure. The bouquet offers stone fruit, some butter and dusty chalk. The palate comes with great definition, structure and a good acidic backbone. From my point of view one of the best Chardonnays out of Germany so far.

GMs - Casual Fridays September 2017: Blind. Worked style - buttery, wax and passionfruit with some apricot as well. Large proportions on the palate, there is some drive there and the fruit is decidedly mouthfilling. Didn't really appeal on the night but maybe a different context would have it show better.

The wine looks light gold colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like grapefruit, apricot, mineral, light toast, vanilla, diacetyl (butter) and butterscotch. It tastes like lemon, apricot, apple, mineral, butterscotch and diacetyl (butter). The body is light/medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Quite bright and mineral, less oak. Yellow fruit, slightly buttery. Much less expressive than a 2012 von Winning Chardonnay 167 tasted alongside. Elegant with very good length. 91-93

Still rich and creamy on the nose, but less opulent than I remember it to be around 18 months ago. More mineral notes are present now as well as ripe stone fruit and floral notes. On the palate again a bit of oak still, lovely rich fruit, good acidity and pronounced minerality. Very vibrant and long. Excellent. 92-94

Broad, rich, ripe yellow stone fruit, very creamy and round, chalky. On the palate polished and round, showing an almost luxurious texture, very persistent and long. Very fine. 92-94
