2+ hour decant. This wine is drinking incredibly well right now. Still has lush mountain cab fruit with a succulent mellow oak flavor that pops in the mid-palate. We think this will continue to drink excellent for another 5 years.

dark red, slight bricking on the rim - subtle nose of red fruit with nice touch of oak - full rich cabernet fruit in the mouth, with excellent balance of fruit, acidity and tannin - smooth 15-20 sec finish - plenty of fruit and structure to develop for many more years, but drinking so well now I'm not sure I would want to wait

Purple and opaque. The nose is rich red and black fruit, with a healthy helping of vanilla. The nose is dominated by cassis, red cherries and vanilla that are consistent on the palate. The fruit on the nose an palate is ripe. The finish is lingering red cherries. Tannins are moderate. Acidity is low. Alcohol is moderate plus.
Drinking extremely well. My last bottle but the best by far; funny how that happens. 5+13+17+8=93

dark red, slight bricking on the rim - muted nose of red cherry fruit with nice touch of oak - excellent balance of fruit, acidity and tannin in the mouth - smooth 15-20 sec finish - this was more impressive when younger, but may be going thorough a dumb phase now - certainly plenty of fruit and structure to develop for many more years

This wine is better since last year and the year before. It still has more time to me, but man is it drinking good now. 1 hour after decant it really opened up. Big mountain cab still!

Opened decanted let sit for an hour then we slowly sipped it over 2 hours. Could definitely have used a longer decant as the wine was improving with every glass. Dark fruit on the nose, the palate was Berry, Plum, Fig, Leather and a touch of dried thyme. The finish was moderate to long and full. I got this bottle in a mixed case that i bought at a charity auction so sadly my only bottle.

Purple with a transparent edge and long legs that leave the impression that they are staining glass. The nose is violets, plumbs, ripe sweet cherries and dark fruit. Rolling dark fruit palate with velvety tannins and some grippy minerality on the finish. Drinking well. 5+12+17+8=92

Deep plum hue with heavy legs. The nose is candied cherry with a touch of cinnamon, cloves and earth. Seamless transition front to back. Nice smooth finish. Not worth $70.00 in our region, maybe $45 - $50. Good and enjoyable, but not a repeat buy.

Barnett Vineyards Current Releases Tasting (Mpls, MN): Very dark red color. Tasting pour x 2. This was a big step up from the Merlot. Gorgeous nose of ripe black and blue fruits, mulberry, lush, creme de cassis, blueberries, precise, blue flowers, earthiness. The palate captures the nose wonderfully echoing the this fresh, mountain fruit, layered, lovely, cassis, mulberry, blue fruits, mild dried herbs, floral, with earth and pepper on the finish. Really stylish and well crafted. 91%CS, 6%CF, 3%PV. Very accessible now.

Barnett Vineyards Tasting: Nose: Almost candied plums with mulberries, cassis and violets. Wow a what nose! Palate: Very soft and approachable with soft, dark fruits with black licorice and spice. Finish and mouth coating aspects go on for about 30 seconds. Great stuff.

Very earthy, bordeaux characteristics. It truly opened up after an hour. This will get better over the years. If you buy, buy multiple, so you can see this change over the year(s)

Great example of 2012 Napa cab. Delicious fruit nose with cassis and plum on the tongue.

Dark red, cherry, cranberry fruit profile in a bright and zesty style. Nice balance and medium finish.

Loved this wine - as I do all Barnett wines. Drank along side a 2011 - both outstanding.

Very good wine, tremendous fruit, acidity, and balance. The structure suggests this will hold up for 5-6 more years

PNP wonderful bouquet....well rounded cab similar to an Estate Grown Duckhorn or Cakebread but is missing something mid-pallet. Good value!
