OK but aging, fruit is past it's prime and becoming muted, a bit of savouriness. It paired with grilled petite tender but was very much just a supporting player with dinner.

Medium-bodied, super dark and still good acid. Could sit longer. Wonderful notes of dark fruit, cocoa, coffee, burned sugar or toffee. Perfect with a ribeye!

Very big. Cherry flavor and red fruit. A touch sweet. Very thick almost syrupy mouthfeel. Tannins well integrated but enough left for a slightly dry finish. Went great with a New York strip steak

Less x-mas spices and less port like than other vintages, this is a refreshing and fruit forward red wine with pure red cherry and red berry flavors. It has good weight and fine tannins. I find this is a lovely wine at a great price (10 Euros). - 89 points

Meandro 2012: A very special vintage of this wine. I have tasted the 2004, 2006 and 2008 vintage, and the 2012 is much more elegant and has a red fruit profile. Less x-mas spices and less port like than the other vintages, this is a refreshing and fruit forward red wine with pure red cherry and red berry flavors. It has good weight and fine tannins. I find this is a lovely wine at a great price. - 90 points

Full bodied, polished, beautiful acidity. There is some awesome fruit underneath all the packaging, but the oak understated :-) .. A tad less complex than last year's, but it was more immediately ready to drink this year.

Full body, inky garnet color. Elegant black and red fruits, leather and floral aroma. Bitter cherry, black currants and dried plums with earthy notes on the palate, medium long mineral finish. Rich but very charm, robust texture, complex, balanced, nice acidity, gently tannic. Food friendly, best match is stewed meat dishes. Open at least 6 hour in advance. Serve 16º - 22º. Drink now and next three years.

Inky black to a thin watery rim. Nose of cedar, blackcurrant, garrigue, the palate offers up sweet blackcurrant and berry fruit, some rosemary and other green herbs, pretty smooth on the mid palate and then a warming finish.

Classy and claret-like, particularly in mouthfeel and the way the oak is integrated with the fruit. Lots of blackberry and blackcurrant, but a good amount of softer cherry here to round things out, which I reckon comes from the bits of Tempranillo. Slightly bitter middle palate akin to Victoria plum skins, but then something floral mixed with charred stones and damp earth. Finish is long and pleasant with the oak relaxing in your mouth and leaving a nice spiciness behind. This is still very tannic, but not unapproachable with enough time in the decanter. One of those wonderful wines that suit both summer and winter.

Translucent dark ruby purple in the glass; Nose of purple plums and blackberries, dark mossy earth, a touch of black olive, and a hint of aromatic sassafras; bracing acidity in the mouth, more darkness, rich, bright black and purple fruit flavors; crunchy tannins, and a long, bright, fruity finish. Much better after a couple of days opened in the fridge - may be too young now. Would love to try this in a couple of years.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of this wine. The name “Meandro” refers to the big meander the Douro river takes around the estates vineyards. Varietal composition: 38 % Touriga Nacional, 30 % Touriga Franca, 20 % Tinta Roriz, 12 % other varieties. Maturation: the wine was aged for twelve months in French Allier barriques (second and third use). Decanted: two hours in advance. Color: deep ruby-red color with tinges of violet. Bouquet: intense aromas of blueberry, kirsch liqueur, sweet spices, dark chocolate and a touch of cedar. On the palate: a wine with a solid structure and a nice concentration, revealing plenty of juicy plum and berry fruit and supported by noticeable but already quite rounded tannins. Finish: complex, prolonged aftertaste. Wine with a great QPR that will develop excellently for the next 3-5 years.
Color is quite dark and deep. Wild berries, mushrooms, licorice, caramel. Very good wine that is off the beaten path. The caramel is not overpowering but I had asked for a bit less.

Blackberry and currant fruit with a hint of stalkiness on the nose. The taste has lots of black fruit, some tannins but smooth ones and then a longish sour blackberry finish. I always enjoy this wine, great value, especially when you buy it in Portugal at 11 euro a bottle.

Somewhat astringent/bitter, very low fruit, no terroir, a bit medicinal (Chinese medicine). Not much to brag about.

Vin assez générique, costaud et un peu simple.
Nez sur les fruits noirs et la fumée.
En bouche, ample, mures et boisé appuyé...correct.
