Dark purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of currants, berries, blueberries and roasted meat. Flavors of berries, currants and cherries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink over the short term.

This was a very good, mature and ready to drink Sonoma Cty Russian River Valley syrah enjoyed last night at the Lake Hickory CC with good CT wine buddy neighborbill and spouses. Bill had bottle open and breathing for a couple of hours at home prior to dinner. Thoroughly new world, very good, big, fruit forward, inky black, rich and full bodied yet surprisingly velvety mouth feel, earthy and brooding with an amazingly long aftertaste - do not coming looking for subtlety here. Nose of earth, rich dark stone fruit and tar with a hint of black pepper. Primary flavors included tar, black pepper, dark fruit and currant up front with a smoother earthy and smokey mid-palate. At this price point this wine represents a good QPR, highly recommend this for lovers of big earthy and fruit forward wines.

a laid back night on the rooftop: nose: excellent depth with a nice peppery nose along with tones of dark herbs, red and black fruits, with some real good tones of dark berries to accompany it. Well balanced, but with a richer quality that shows that its more new world, but not overtly fruity
taste: real good and silky tannins with a rich full bodied feel. Black pepper, herbs, some black currants, red and black fruits with a touch of smoke on the back end. This is full bodied without overtaking you on the palate
overall: a quality syrah. The fruit showed a more new world side to it, but it had a good coolness to it at the same time. Well balanced with a nice peppery streak to it

One of the best California Syrahs I've been privileged to taste. Remarkable inky color and sensational lush flavors, with extraordinary length on the palate. So good, I'm cracking another bottle as I write. I could wait a couple of years on this wine, considering the Davis Family wine making skills, but why? Hard to believe? If you don't try it, you'll never know.

Deep dark fruit; spice on the nose; licorice, lavender and tobacco; elegant tannins and great finish

Dark and brooding, rich, some chocolate, earth, spice. Not so much fruit standing out, and No real alcohol notes. Could use a bit more acid.
